“They did'nt clean the room”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Although the staff was very kind and friendly, the hotel is not in good conditions. The light of the mirror in the bathroom didn't work, the walls are dirty and need a painting, air conditioning wasn't working,... And the 2nd day of our stay they didn't clean the room. When we arrived in the afternoon we told the receptionist the room had not been cleaned and he said he was very sorry, but he didn't have staff to make it clean at that time (while we had been out all day, and they could have cleaned it perfectly)... And moreover, just below our room there is a pub, that did not close until 1 am... impossible to sleep with the music so loud. I would not deffinitively recommend it.

With it being only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Geneva and 2 minutes from the train/bus station we found it an ideal base for our 3 night stay in Geneva. So yeah great location (apart from it being in the red light district but that's not so bad) The rooms were a bit scruffy round the edges but on the whole the hotel was nice. Great value for money.

We stayed here for a weekend. The hotel is literally 10 mins walk from the train station but is situated within the red light district of Geneva. If you are okay to overlook that it is a decent hotel with a good size bed and surprisingly was very quiet despite being on a busy street. The air conditioning did not seem to work but the hotel had a room fan which was sufficient to get us through the night. The bathroom was extremely tiny. Imagine a bathroom the size of a closet. I would say this was probably the only negative. We did not try the breakfast there as there were many small restaurants around offering coffee and croissant. Overall a very pleasant stay but will choose some other place next time around.

This hotel is perfect for city trip. The main train station is about 3 minutes walk, you can walk to the lake and to the old town via the bridge. The rooms are clean, the bathroom is OK and breakfast was simple but very good.

I stayed over for 4 nights while attending a trade show for work.
Pros -
- Great proximity to train station
- value for the price you pay (this is Geneva after all)
- walking distance from the lake and nicer part of town
- lots of cafes and eateries around open till really late. Managed to get a Kebab at like 2 in the morning right next door. :)
- Breakfast was good with a decent selection of items.

Cons -
- Its smack in the middle of the red light district in Geneva with prostitutes and hoodies all around.
- The room was recently done up but the bed was really old I think and therefore the sleep quality was not very good.
- A/C was patchy in the night. Could not open the windows as the noise from the street below was too much. (I was on the first floor)
- The bathroom was really tiny and they could have put in a bit of shelving to leave your toiletries.

Room Tip: You are better of picking a room that is facing Rue de Berne as a colleague of mine stayed on the ot...

I stayed for 2 nights at Hotel Windsor. It was very well placed literally a few minutes' walk from the central (Geneva Cornavin) station. It's also about 5 minute's walk from Lake Geneva and Pont du Mont Blanc (the bridge that takes you to the Old Town), making the Old Town accessible within 15-20 minutes on foot. Having said that, note that all public transport (bus/tram/yellow boat) is free with the Travel Card that all Geneva hotels provide free of charge for the duration of your stay.

Check-in was pretty swift and the hotel is split into 2 (with the lobby connecting the 2 buildings). As a result, each building, once you're on the floor of your bedroom, feels quite cramped. The lifts are also tiny. My mum and I struggled to fit into the lift with just our hand luggage. Additionally, there are 2 entrances to the hotel. One entrance backs onto a street that looked like a red light area, so perhaps this entrance should be avoided at night.

The bedroom itself was of decent size, and had a flatscreen TV (but no English channels), a wardrobe, desk and safe. No tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom is tiny, with a shower, toilet and sink all crammed into a small square. 2 in 1 shower gel and soap is provided, and there is a hairdryer too. Air conditioning worked well, certainly better than the curtains (the ends had come off the rail so didn't quite block out all light). Sound insulation is very poor. I could hear every word being said in the room next door. As a result, I woke up 2 hours before my alarm one morning and couldn't get back to sleep. Free Wifi was excellent with no problems with signal strength.

Our room came with breakfast (I believe all rooms do) and comprised buffet style cold meats/cheese, croissants, bread, yoghurt, cereal and hard boiled eggs, as well as the usual hot/cold drinks. Having breakfast included was handy particularly as food isn't cheap in Geneva (using the Big Mac standard, a medium meal was CHF11.70 (£8.60).

All in all the hotel was good value for the price paid. However, the small bathroom and poor sound insulation let it down.
