Amazing architecture...beautiful medieval streets. Brick paved streets, street side bistros...loved it all!

“Worth a visit. Not outstanding but what a view!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

A visit to the Old City district of Geneva should be on every visitor's list. You'll feel the difference the minute you leave modern Geneva and head up into quiet, narrow, climbing streets. I visited on a Saturday and there was a lovely leisurely, unhurried feel to the area. Lunch in one of the numerous eateries in the vicinity is recommended but pricey. The cathedral itself is very austere and plain inside but there is a story as to why that is which you'll find out when you visit. Wonderfully cooling on what was a scorching Summer's day. If you have the stamina to climb to the top of the tower it will be all worth your while for the stunning view over the city and lake.

“Peaceful and a great view!”

The Cathedrale de St-Pierre in Old Town in Geneva is well worth the visit. For a few francs, you can climb up one of the towers and get a breathtaking view of Lake Geneva and the Jet d'Eau. On a nice day, I highly recommend a visit to the Cathedral.

“Old Geneva and a place of peace”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2014

We visited the Cathedral on a blustery day.
The Cathedral was beautiful and definitely a place to sit, contemplate and feel a different Geneva.
We climbed to the top of the tower, and the views across Geneva were stunning. The climb was awkward, the steps going up narrow, but the views from the top are not to be missed.
The Cathedral is in the old town, and at the top of a steep walk up the cobbled streets. It is beautiful up here, the buildings are interesting, and it feels quite different to the bustle of modern Geneva in the streets below.

“Take some time out.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

This is not only a place of worship and quiet contemplation - it is also a museum and a vantage point to look out over Geneva. There are views into ancient history as the ruins of older places of worship have been preserved and can be seen below the foundations of the current cathedral.
