Hotel Longemalle is wonderfully located for a quick stop in Geneva, but the rooms are small, tired and awkward, and the service was terrible. We booked a classic (base room) twin - for kids, and a superior double, for parents. After checking in we noted that the double room was ordinary. Tiny bathroom, no work surface or desk at all, squeaky parquet floor. A quick check of the kids room showed it was twice the size, although still not great. When we asked the front desk, they said 'too bad'! You booked a classic and a superior, that is what you got.

Breakfast buffet is not good either, serving possibly Switzerland's worst coffee. Not what you would expect at all.

Room Tip: DOn't book the 'classic' room, unless you are stuck and not planning to do anything excp...

The location is very good, the staff is ok. Again I hate being asked for guaratee but I guess this is swiss hotel policy. The furniture is old and the floor is "singing"...if you walk in the middle of the night youll wake up half of the hotel...

If location is your priority, then this is the right choice.
The hotel has an elegant facade like many other nice old establishment, and it promises a lot. When you enter inside it is a big disappointment. The rooms are small, bathroom much smaller, and everything is desperately in need of refurbishment.
Service is efficient, staff is friendly, breakfast is fine, and free wi-fi is certainly positive. But the rooms are rather noisy and the bathroom even noisier.
I like old hotels, but they should be well managed, well maintained and duly upgraded.

Although a simple hotel, good location in the middle of shoppingdistrict. Small room and bath, but very comfortable bed, fast roomservice, very clean, and all in all we had no complains. There is no restaurant or bar or other facilities as far as I could see. Some noise from outside and other rooms.

Stayed here for 3 nights on business, my 2nd visit (first one in May 2009). This hotel is centrally placed for the financial district, with easy access on foot to the lake, old town, and all amenities within just a few minutes. Reception and restaurant staff were friendly. The public areas are elegant, and breakfast (included in my room rate) was good. On this stay my room faced the square at the front of the hotel, which was very nice, but you should be aware it can be very noisy outside late in the evening, in the early hours and first thing in the morning, so earplugs could be useful! (Last time I stayed the window looked out onto a brick wall, so that was the other extreme...) Facilities in the room were adequate, with free wifi (ask at reception for a code). The bedroom and ensuite bathroom were badly in need of refurbishment however, but were all clean and the bed was comfortable. At CHF275 per night it wasn't cheap, but nowhere in Geneva is! Would be content to stay there again if on business, but if travelling for leisure would definitely shop around for other hotels in similar location.

Our stay at this hotel, however short, was truly enjoyable.
The room was spacious and quiet. The automatic blinds make sure the room is dark enough for a good night sleep. Beds were clean and comfortable.
Continental breakfast was delicious and varied, all accompanied by wonderful service.
The location is very convenient, just are from old town and a two minute walk to the Jardin Anglais where you can see the famous "grass/flower" clock (not sure how to describe it), go for a walk around the lake and take Le Petit Train that will take you for a 30 minute sightseeing ride around lake Geneva.
Overall, a great stay. Highly recommend.
