“Hotel Geneva”

My husband and I stayed here for two nights on our European vacation. It was about a ten minute walk from train station which wasn't too hard to do. Check in was efficient and we found staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are satisfactory with good use of space. Breakfast is self service with a good choice. Shops and supermarkets are accessible including a nice little Irish pub. From the train station it is about another 10 minutes to Lake Geneva. Enjoyed stay and would rate as a good family/budget hotel.

Even though this Ibis hotel is pricey, comparing to other Ibis hotels, it is a good deal for Geneva standards. I was overall pleasantly surprised by its location, the rooms, even if small in size but bathroom perfect, very good buffet breakfast, small terrace. Only negative comment, really, was soundproofing between rooms not totally perfect.

Room Tip: Higher up or not facing the main street.

A very comfortable and friendly hotel. I arrived at 10am after over 30 hours travel and they kindly checked me in early for some well needed sleep. They also had bag storage for the rest of the day after we checked out. These little things were more helpful. Overall the beds pillows etc are very comfortable, better than some 5 star hotels so the potential is there to sleep very well. Breakfast was good without being exceptional. If you want something different there was a bolangerie/patisserie within 2 mins from the front door by turning left at the main entrance. They did make some mistakes with the booking but all were fixed in a prompt manner. Location is very good with easy public transport to the centre of Geneva and a nice 20 min walk down to the lake.

I've had terrible experiences at Ibis before but this is by far one of the best ones. It is super clean; bed is comfortable and throw in a hairdryer and iron and it could pass for a 5 star hotel!

Really good location...10 min walk to the station and 10 minutes to the geneva convention centre!

My only complaint was there were two staff a lady and a man at reception who seemed very disinterested. I asked the lady for directions and she just said she didn't know...yet I then waited and turned to the other lady at receptiom who then took out a map and spent 5 mins helping me...the other lady should not have been at reception if she had such an attitude with guests.

The hotel is located about a ten minute walk from Cornavin Railway Station (SBB). It is located in a quiet neighbourhood. The rooms at the Ibis are moderate in size and are very clean. Showers are good. The buffet breakfast is good, with a fair selection. You have to travel to find good restaurants. However, the Ibis offers good value for money in an expensive city. I would stay here again.

Stayed for two nights on a business trip, I wouldn't mind staying longer. Helpful staff, rooms big, nice and clean. Very comfortable beds! Breakfast was ok, enough to start a day. To sum up: nothing spectacular but I did enjoy the stay.

The hotel is fine as a relatively affordable option in an expensive city, however it would be too much to call this good value.
Everything is basic, but clean and the size is fine, the location is good and well connected to the main institutions across the city.
One irritant though is the lack of availability to buy a bottle of water, even from a vending machine! There are few shops nearby and Swiss opening hours mean they're often closed - the hotel bar is fine, but it's quite normal to want a bottle of water in the room and not obviously possible to get one.
