“Much better than expected”
Reviewed 1 December 2011

I have been pleasantly surprised by the high standards of rooms at Jade with beautiful decor, nice amenities and a pleasant athmosphere. Rooms are much nicer than some 4 or 5 star hotels I have stayed in earlier. Nicely located in between UN area and the Old Centre. A nice gem and a definite recommendation.

We stayed in Jade Hotel on March 2011.
We booked through lastminute.com and got an excellent price - about € 85/night. For Geneva it's a reallly good price!!! Considering the price we paid, we had low expectations for our room :).
Fortunaly, we were wrong.
Our room was huge. New and very well decorated, in neutral tones.
The bathroom was modern and super clean.
The hotel is situated in a quiet street, but very near the tram stop and just a 10 minutes walk from the train station.
The staff was polite.
It was the perfect place for our weekend stay in Geneva.
Much better than we expected when we booked.
And much better than some 4 stars hotels.

The hotel was just as we had read on trip advisor.
We booked a standard room on the hotels own website could not beat the price.
On arrival we were given a executive room which was slightly bigger and had a oaf bed in room.
The bathroom was clean plenty of shampoo bath salts and soap. It was bright and modern nice bath tub shower spray with plenty of hot water.
There were dressing gowns and tobleron chocolates on the pillow. we did not have breakfast or any meals but w were given vouchers for 15% off. He room has a nepresso coffee machine which was better then the normall kettle and sachet you normally receive.
We have 2 negatives on the hotel first is could do with 2 pillows each as we're slightly flat or our liking and he area the hotel is in.
It's easy to walk to the lake the station and shopping areas but a few of the surrounding streets if you turn right out if the hotel are dark dismal, hookers hanging around and undesirable characters.
A few of the street corners smell like outside urinals and it just feels a unsafe place to be.
Once your out of the immediate area it's fine.
We were assured by hotel staff that it was fine but just found it generally uncomfortable and the urine a bit overpowering.
I would book again but knowing which way to go now wold opt for a longer walk to the lake.

It's difficult to find a good hotel value in Geneva, but the Jade more than fits the bill. Indeed, the Manotel group impressed me on my recent visit, finding synergy between their hotels (the Jade now brings food for room service and breakfast from its sister hotel that is almost across the street). Meets all my key criteria: Good security, shower, internet, very good bed. My fears (no restaurant, so I had thought it might have a mediocre breakfast, but that wasn't the case -- breakfast is excellent) were not realized, instead I was delighted. I will be back. Very helpful staff!

Room Tip: I have no expertise in this area, but it might make sense to avoid street exposure insofar as possib...

Although marked as a three-star hotel, the Jade's rooms compare favorably to other four-star hotels in Geneva. They are large, quiet, tastefully furnished, and well-equipped. The rooms are well laid out for working. Wi-fi is free, reliable, and available for multiple devices.

Services at the Jade are limited, however. There is no restaurant on premises (although there are many in the area) and no room service. The breakfast facilities on the main floor are pleasant (although I could have lived without the piped-in mood music). The breakfast itself is not lavish, although there is a reasonable selection of cured meats and cereals and the pastries are tasty.

This is a very good hotel for business; may be less so for leisure travelers.

The hotel is close to the tram station (1 minute walk) and to the train station (Gare de Cornavin) and Rue de Mont Blanc(15 minutes walk and 3 min by tram) and close to the lake (5 minutes walk).

Geneva is expensive. When I visited Geneva the Swiss Franc was very expensive too. The nightly rate was expensive for a 4 stars hotel, not centrally located.

Room was large and quite. I liked the lighting and comfy bed. I also liked the bathroom and the powerful shower, however I didn't give a full mark because my bathtub was partially clogged and my complaint didn't fix the problem. The room has large full windows, but the hotel does not overlook anything interesting. Nonetheless, in a sunny day it is really nice.

The free broad band internet is excellent.

We were upgtaded to a junior suite on the top floor. It had a large sitting area and a mini-kitchen along with more than ample storage. There was also a large deck outside a wall.of windows so it made the room quite light The room was clean, airy and modern and the bed comfy.A Netspresso machine was a nice add and the breakfast quite adequate, if unspectacular.

Geneva is blow your mind expensive, and this hotel is a real value. The neighborhood is a working class one, but still reasonably close to the old town (a 15 minute walk) and very convenient to the train station. It is part of a group of hotels/restaurants and we tried one of the restaurants but would not go back t that restaurant- mediocre except for the entertainment from the nearby table where an english-speaking executive was holding court with his minions and pontificating hyperboloc nonsense. Both my wife and I are CEOs and we were suppressing hysterics. But I digress.

The only negative was that the elevator does not go to the top floor so you have to lug your stuff up a flight of stairs if your room is there. The staff were not the warmest of folks either, but they got the job done. We would go back if we return to Geneva (we love Switzerland, but Geneva not so much).

Room Tip: Don't get a top floor room if you can't carry bags up a flight of stairs.
