Good quality modern hotel very close to the centre of Geneva and about 10 minutes walk to Lake Geneva and about 15 mins to the UN headquarters and Red Cross building. The hotel is ideal for business and pleasure - also saw a few families with young children. It is a large hotel with about 200 rooms, has a restaurant, bar, free internet and games for children. There is a really nice spa with relaxation room, hammam, sauna, solarium and massage room plus gym. The buffet breakfast is delicious and there is a huge choice.

Our room was a typical modern room, very comfortable bed, very clean, flat screen TV. Couldn’t fault it. Also the staffs were on the whole extremely friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about trips etc.

Things I'd recommend to do in Geneva include - a boat trip (about 3 hours round trip) from the water front to Yvoire which is about 1.5 hours away (actually into France) - its a 700 years old medieval town and so so charming. We loved this little town - its got lots of little shops, restaurants and bars and great views of the water. It’s also a very relaxing boat trip.
Whilst down at the lake front you’ll see the Jet d'Eau - which is a large fountain and is one of the city's most famous landmarks.
There are lots of lovely restaurants and bars in Geneva especially in the old town – which is lovely.
We didn’t get to the watch museum (Patek Philippe Museum) but everyone recommended it.
Take a walk through the botanical gardens – they are free and absolutely beautiful – you’ll find them by walking along the lake and taking a right.

I didn’t go shopping – but there is a huge selection of luxury shops. Price wise Geneva is expensive compared to London – probably about 20% more.

As you've paid a tourist tax we got a free public transport ticket which includes the wonderful little water taxis that take you from one side of the lake to the other.

Geneva looks very safe – which it probably is but be very careful of your wallets and bags as there are pick pockets around and they’ve very clever. If you do lose your passport – you’ll have to go to the city of Berne to get a new one and that’s two hours away on a train – so just be aware!

Room Tip: ...the rooms are probably all the same.

The hotel is located just few minutes walk from the train station and just few minutes walk from the city center and touristic attractions, however it is just near the bars that make it noisy even at midnight. The noise and load music from the bars are disturbing especially if your room looks Rue de Zurich street. Otherwise the hotel is clean and has a X-Box for children to play free of charge. Also free internet and printing facility is available at the lobby.

Room Tip: Rooms looking Zurich street is not recommended.

This hotel looks worringly dated from the outside, but is actually quite funky inside.

Rooms are a good size, and modern.

Restaurant is over-priced (even by Swiss standards) and our meal was very poor - re-heated supermarket lasagne and over boiled and tasteless pasta. If it had been cheap I wouldn't have been overly bothered, but they charged as if the food was plentiful and good quality - and it was neither.

I usually try and avoid hotel restaurants - and this was a good reminder why.

I often stay at this hotel as i have to travel to Geneva 1-2 times a year. The rooms are fair big and clean. The hotel is recently renovated. The location is easy to reach. Close to the train station. But the area is not nice. The next block is for strip bars and night clubs. But it's safe. There is no view from the hotel.

A great location, nice hotel all refurbished. Nice and calm room. Great conference room brand new with green furnitures. Friendly staff. I do recommend either for a business trip and a personal trip.

Room Tip: There is a sauna and hamman but I had no time to try!

My wife and I stayed in the Novotel Geneve Centre for a night in June. The hotel is conveniently located on a relatively quiet side street, only a couple of miles from the airport (although that's true of pretty much all of the hotels in Geneva) and a five minute walk from the lake front. We turned up in a hire car, which we were able to park (at a cost) in the hotel's car park. A word of warning here. The ramp from the street down into the car park is really steep, so if you're not confident with hill starts you might want to think about hiring an automatic if you're intending to park in here. But there's plenty of space once you're in.

We had an Executive room on the top floor of the hotel, which was spacious and well presented. It also had a large balcony, although as all of the surrounding buildings are as tall as the hotel, there's not much of a view.

As is the case with all of the Novotels I've stayed in, there's a pleasant bar and restaurant. The breakfast buffet offered a good selection of hot and cold food.

Overall we enjoyed our brief stay and would happily stay there again.
