We travel through Geneva almost every year on route to the Alps. This time we stayed. There is a wonderful atmosphere here, very calm and clean. Plenty of lakeside cafes, restaurants and bars to sit at and watch the world go by. We used the ferry's to cross the lake and buses to travel along the banks. The water is crystal clear. The fountain is quite spectacular. the gardens are lovely. Plenty of people walking, running and skateboarding. The beach was crowded but everyone looked like they were having a great time. We took a paddlesteamer to Yvoire. A lovely day trip. But make sure you get to the dock early to start queuing and I recommend buying a first class ticket if you haven't managed to book a table in the restaurant. Great views of lakeside houses and the boat stops at 3 or 4 small towns on route to Yvoire.
