Beautiful lake with the jet water fountain, swans etc. You can roam around or take a boat from side to side. Some nice attractions around for kids and adults.

Lake Geneva is an integral part of the city. If you go there you have to take a trip on the lake, preferably on one of the old steamers. The scenery is great.

nothing special, just a fountain or a jet in the middle of the lake
you can also take the boat to cross to other side.
not bad but not worth it.

We were in Lausanne, used Swiss Rail Pass and took IR Train to Geneva - <40 min. Walked from the train station to the tourist office (in Post Office) and found out where to take a mini bus tour of Geneva. We strolled down to where Lake Geneva and the Rhône River meet. There was the Jet d’Eau. We crossed the Rhone River over the Pont Des Bergues and past the Île Rousseau, and went on our tour by mini-bus. Highlights of our tour included Le statue équestre du Général Dufour, the Opera House, Conservatoire de Musique, over to Bastions Park with the Wall of Reformers, L’Université de Genèva, La Palais Eynaud, Place Bourg du Four (historic town square, Geneva’s oldest), La Maison Calvin, and a stop at Cathedral St-Pierre, built between 1160 and 1252. Like many churches in Switzerland, the simple interior shows its Reformist heritage. On to L’Ancien Arsenal, Statue of Pictet de Rouchemont under the trees at Promenade de la Treille. This area includes the “official” chestnut tree. Since 1818, appearance of its leaves marks the beginning of spring. Buste Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross, the Tour du Molard, a military tower from the 14th century. Take this tour to help find the things you want to see! After the tour we retraced our steps to see the city a little more in depth. Back to the Cathedral and if you want to get the best view of Jet d'Eau, go to the North Tower and view the fountain from the SECOND level balcony for best view of the lake and the fountain. Then the archeological site of the Cathedral and an underground tunnel to Musee International de la Reforme (Reformation Museum). We then walked to the Rue Jean Fountain, down steep steps to Rue de Rhône, an upscale shopping area, and over to the Flower Clock in the Jardin Anglais. What a wonderful city to visit.
