Upon entering L'Omnibus, we were a bit thrown off by the ambience. We had booked the restaurant with a Smartbox coupon, so we were expecting a place that looked nicer. But it turns out that to get to the restaurant, you have to pass through the bar. And so we were pleasantly surprised when we were seated. The dining area is interesting. There are old tapestries and frosted windows. There are also wooden separators dividing some of the tables, which was an interesting thing.
The service was very polite, and since it's Switzerland, they give you time to enjoy your meal without feeling rushed.
For starters, my wife ordered a salad, while I ordered the fois gras with cinnamon jelly. Both dishes were absolutely fantastic. For the mains, my wife had the beef medallion, au naturel (?), while I ordered the truffle tartar. We asked the steak to be cooked medium well, and it was done perfectly, the meat was very tender and the dish came with mashed sweet potatoes and vegetables. The truffle tartar was topped with an arugula salad and had drops of chocolate syrup on the side. This combination was surprisingly good! Finally, for dessert, we both ordered the chocolate fondant cake. It was delicious! Plus, for each order, 2 francs goes towards the Make-A-Wish foundation. How often do you get to spoil yourself and contribute to a good cause?
One thing to consider though, is that the dining room is a bit loud. Not really a place you would want to bring someone for a romantic dinner. Also, the food was a bit pricey, although considering the quality of the meal we had, I have no complaints about it.
