“Excellent value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2011

Probably the best value for money in Luzern if you just want somewhere that's no-frills to sleep and eat. Rooms were basic but clean and very quiet. Frosted glass door to the shower cubicle possibly a drawback if modesty is an issue but not a problem for familiar friends or family. Breakfast and Wifi available to purchase. Location means walking with luggage for 8-10mins but worth the walk for the $$ saved.

Room was very small but everything was spotlessly clean..the bed was surprisingly very comfortable...only drawback is that there is no closet/space to unpack and keep the clothes...overall good for the price and ideal to stay if you are going to be out most of the time and need a place for a good night's sleep

the etap is exactly what it says it is a no frills hotel. but if you want the frills be prepared to pay, 5 fr for 30 mins internet or 15fr for 3 hours, breakfast basically of ceral and bread 11 fr each. there is a supermarket 30 mtr away and we bought our own cereal, yoghurt and milk, total cost over 2 mornings 7fr. so why did we choose this hotel? simple economics 99fr a night as opposed to the normal standard of hotel we stay in 250 fr a night. the room was clean and very minimalist, no minibar and very small, with queen sized bed and single bunk over. the wash basin is in the bedroom. the mattresses can be described as a plank with minimal amount of stuffing, they guarnatee a good nights sleep. I dont think so. The bed was way too hard and i like a firm mattress. the toilet is tiny , if your over 6 feet tall, you would need to leave the door open to sit down. the shower was a good size and plenty of hot water. The room was not serviced so our rubbish sat there over the 2 days, no toilet paper top up. if you are on a budget this is an inexpensive place to stay, in an expensive town. I would rate this hotel, not much better than a backpakers hostel.

Room was neat and clean. Bed was comfortable. Only problem was the it has a bunker bed So even if you book for 2 people 3 people can sleep in it. Every room has bunker bed and also possible that you may bang your head against bunker bed at night.
Rooms are very small. No power point even to charge your mobile or camera. No kettle. Toilet and wash basin inside room. Internet charges very costly 5 francs for 5 min.

Hotel is located near rail station. Bus stop very near to hotel. Walking distance of about 10-12 minutes from rail station. Overall the budget accomodation.

Room Tip: All rooms are smae so no concept of best room

Small rooms. Clean and basic. Perfect for one night. Near the city center. Free WiFi would be great addition.Breakfast is overpriced. Overall it is good value for money if you are not traveling alone.
