We selected this hotel for the usual reasons -- price, the good reviews, and price. But we were very surpassed with what we got. You can count on a US "budget hotel" having more than its share of oddities -- not this hotel! The rooms were small, but very comfortable. There was very little inside or outside noise. The staff was superb -- very friendly and accommodating. The hotel also accommodated our request not to use fragrant cleaning products (usual readers of my reviews will know how important that is to me.). I absolutely would come here again.
A couple of inside tips: (1) while the hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, it is far shorter by bus, especially after a long day -- only five minutes on the #4 bus line. As of 2014, the #4 bus left from in front of the train station at bus post H. The bus will take you briskly through a part of downtown then head south. The bus takes a left over a bridge across the train tracks, then takes a right at the first traffic light. Look for the hotel on your right just after the bus takes this right. The bus will stop about 75 meters past the hotel. (2) The hotel is right next to a reasonably priced grocery store. A good place to get all sorts of foods and to stock up for a picnic. The hotel has a microwave in the lobby that guests may use, plus an open dining area. (3) The rooms do NOT have facilities for boiling hot water, and no cooking is allowed in rooms. This wasn't a problem for us, but I sensed that this policy surprised some guests.
