“Nice situated hotel, but poor cleaning.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2010

The hotel is very nice situated, very close to the famous bridge in Luzern.

Staff is very friendly and helpful and really make you feel welcomed.
It's a car garage next to the entrance (extra fee) where you can park you car safely.
The hotel restaurant has a very nice (and reasonably) menu with a very friendly staff as well.

If the hotel management had followed up the room cleaners this would have be a top rated hotel. We don't expect to come to a dusty room when arriving at a hotel or to empty soap dispensers. THAT belongs to the one-star hotels.

Hotel was a very easy 3 minute walk from train station (easy to find too). Can also find McDonald and Burger King on the way to hotel. Had 2 connecting double rooms for family of 5 (including 3 kids). Rooms were large and very comfortable. However, noise from outside traffic disturbing especially early in the morning. Breakfast was okay. Overall, enjoyable stay for our last leg of our trip in Switzerland !

About good stuff:
1. LOCATION -just near the railway station and a lake in a city center.
2. Friendly staff.
3. Excellent breakfast.
Not so good.
1. Small rooms.
2. Shampoo and soap mostly left empty after service.
3. Two random bags with new purchases "vanished" from a room.
4.Free internet in a hall only. WiFi connection in rooms is not free at all.

We stayed at this hotel recently and we were very disappointed. The hotel looks nice on the entrance and the room decor is good too. Location is excellent! But, besides that, there is nothing positive to say about the hotel. The service was extremely poor. There was no porter, no hot water kettles in the room. Staff were unfriendly and rude. They didnt give us proper information regarding the lake cruises or pilatus excursion. I felt they were just interested in making money out of their customers. The price they quoted for pilatus tickets was three times of that we actually paid on buying tickets on the spot!! Would not recommend this hotel to anyone

This was our last hotel after 3 weeks of Switzerland. Compared to some of the more quaint places we stayed in, this was much more modern and without a lot of personality. We had upgraded to an executive room on the top floor and the only difference we could see (by peeking into another room) was that our room had a balcony. The balcony was not worth the extra money! It faced the back of the hotel and other buildings so there was no view and no reason to go out there. The room itself was relatively large by European standards with a desk and large bathroom, but there was a tiny closet, so not much room to hang clothes! There was a nice flat screen TV with only 1 English channel. We had been told the hotel had WLAN available, but found out there was $24/24 hour charge for it! There was a computer in the lobby for free, but it’s a big hotel and so it wasn’t available very often. The location is great; a few blocks from the train station and close to the bridge going into old town. The breakfast was very generous with eggs and sausage along with the regular cheese, meats and breads, however most of it tasted like it had sat out for awhile, which it probably had! The service was great, both at breakfast and in the hotel. Overall, it was a decent place to stay at a fairly reasonable rate for Lucerne and the location was perfect for seeing all the sights. If we were to return, we might look for something with more charm, but if you are looking purely for convenience and a clean place to stay, it does the job.
