This wonderful boutique-style hotel has probably opened quite recently since the rooms still seem to be brand-new. Ours was very quiet, clean, really charming and cozy. The king-size bed was comfortable with quality bed linen and soft pillows. Large flat-screen TV, iHome, Espresso coffee machine, a small fridge, free wifi. Our room also had a small balcony facing the road.
Bathrooms are not really large, but not small either. I have to agree though with some of the previous reviews: a shower door could have been handy, but probably design was a priority. Anyway, the walk-in shower is quite large and has great water pressure which makes up for this minor flaw.
The hotel is easy to reach and conveniently located, at a stone's throw from the central railway station, Chapel Bridge, Old Town, the lake and all the other major sights. Everything is within walking distance and you won't need a car to visit Lucerne. Parking spots are not that difficult to find in the neighborhood (20CHF for 24 hours) and it is more than safe. The hotel is surrounded by several shops and and a good selection of restaurants of any kind, even McD and Starbucks are really close.
We enjoyed the breakfast, excellent wide selection of cereals, fresh fruit, croissants, etc. It is extremely expensive though (30 CHF or something like that), so I suggest having breakfast somewhere else if it is not already included in your rate. In our case it was, but we had to remind the lady at the front desk since she didn't seem to care to check before charging us. As already mentioned in another review here, make sure you check on your own before having breakfast at the hotel ;-)
All in all staff were friendly and polite, but yes, probably not really as professional as you would expect in a 4 star hotel.
The room rates might look quite expensive, I agree, but Swiss standards have to be taken into account, as usually. I'd stay here again for sure, overall it was a great stay.
