i was looking for a modern and trendy hotel in lucern and i found this incredible "the Hotel" !! All the rooms are amazing ( The interior design of the rooms are intimate and futuristic ) , they have an extraordinary restaurant ( BamBou fusion cuisine ) . the staff of "the hotel" was completely friendly and professional at the same time , made me feel like home and wellcome . The manager Primo , gave me a lot of tips about the town , restaurants , what and how to enjoy this nice city . Tks a lot to him and staff !! if you go to lucern , dont hesitate to stay there . Go for it !!

We stayed four nights here in the 'dangerous liaisons' room. What a great hotel! Each of the hotel rooms is themed on a film and includes a huge still from the film painted on the ceiling. The hotel is very central and just a couple of minutes walk from the train station overlooking a small square. The staff were brilliant and helped us organise trips and dinner reservations, and were really friendly; we did day trips to Mount Rigi and Mount Pilatus.  Breakfasts are a good continental style. There is a bar on the ground floor that was great for a pre dinner drink, but only really seemed to be busy later on the weekend. If you walk a few blocks (less than 10 minutes) from the hotel away from the river you get into an area that has less of a tourist feel and has much more in the way of interesting bars and reasturants, worth exploring for an afternoon pub crawl :)

To sum up, a really great hotel that felt a bit different and interesting.

This was a beautiful modern hotel which I really enjoyed staying at. The rooms very spacious, bed and amenities were great. The bathroom was also well designed and the minimalist feel was not stark and sterile, but was inviting and interesting. I was initially perplexed at not finding the blinds but then realized, you would not have blinds at the hotel given the focus of the ceiling art. (which was fantastic). So I tapped into my exhibitionist nature a bit and enjoyed the experience of being in open blinds all evening! (you have private spaces so its not all open and the windows are not all glaringly open even in the corner rooms). I really enjoyed the simple design, the feel of the hotel, and the service. Its a pleasure to stay here!

Room Tip: corner rooms are spacious and sunny!

Dear Mr. TMausH

Thank you very much for you nice feedback on tripadvisor. It`s great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us at THE HOTEL. The design of the french architect Jean Nouvel is definitely very successful and unique and makes it also for us every day very special to work in such a surrounding. Of course is the ceiling art a very important story but not as much important that the design wouldn`t allow any blinds. In every room we do have next to the bed a control which closes the blinds at every window.
.
Thank you once again for your stay at THE HOTEL. We are looking forward to welcome a other time again.

Best regards

Good location near the train station. Nice and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Modern design (though lacking bright night light in some rooms). Good restaurant with fusion cuisine. Delicious food, great service. Bit expensive, but good experience. The biggest disappointment of the whole stay was the low quality mattresses in all the rooms. We were upgraded and moved to another room after we complained during the first night, but the bed was still uncomfortable in another room. Even though my boyfriend is not sensitive to the types of the mattresses (I am) neither of us could sleep.

Dear Kateandkate

Thank you very much for your feedback. It is always a pleasure to hear that our guest like our rooms from Jean Nouvel and our delicious fusion food from Andrew Cayton at Bam Bou.

Unfortunately you do not slept well in our beds and you had a disagreeable night. I would like to apologize for this fact.

Please contact us in advanced at your next stay and we will do our best to fullfill your wishes.

We hope to welcome you again at THE HOTEL.

On an unplanned weekend trip, we drove to Lucerne to check out the town. Luckily we ended up parking outside of The Hotel. Though we weren't staying at the hotel, the front desk staff (Alexandra and Gracziana) were friendly and amazingly helpful to our general questions. After a day of walking around town we ended up back at our car, and then decided to inquire about rooms. (This really was an unplanned weekend!) Two rooms were available and we ended up eating dinner in the hotel restaurant and then, again thanks to our very helpful front desk team, planned out a great itinerary for the next day.

The rooms in the hotel were beautiful, clean and well equiped. Molton Brown products, hard wood floors, down feather duvet, and fabulous black out shutters that allowed for a great deep sleep. I loved this hotel so much I wanted to extend my stay.

Didn't love the restaurant, tables way too close together and staff seemed a bit aloof and unfriendly. However the food was decent and after a day of traveling and walking around, the commute back to our rooms was great! ;-)

Haven't loved a hotel like this in a long time. Highly recommend!!

Room Tip: There is a public alarm clock aka bell tower nearby, so no avoiding hear that gong, but you get used...

Dear PE from London

Thank you very much for you nice and helpful feedback on tripadvisor. It is a pleasure to hear that you felt in love to THE HOTEL. Our Front Office team do every day their best to make every guest stay comfortable and successful. They try to anticipate guests every wish and give them helpful tips for their stay at Lucerne. THE HOTEL is designed from the famous French architect Jean NOUVEL. THE HOTEL is situated in the middle of the city, however it has a beautiful view to a garden and the rooms are very quiet.

Unfortunately our service at the restaurant Bam Bou was aloof and unfriendly. I would like to apologize for this fact. Normally we try to do a warm, friendly and welcoming service. The hint for the table set up I would like to analyse.

We hope to welcome you again at THE HOTEL to assure you our complete friendliness and professionalism.

Best regards from Lucerne

Hotel very clean and quite contemporary. Breakfast was not included in the price. We purchased one room for 3 nights at a discount, but no cancellation. Good deal. Location very good next to a park. We had continental breakfast there but other on the street restaurants are nearby. We did not have dinner there. The restaurant was quite crowded in the evenings from our observations. Would stay there again.

Room Tip: This is a small hotel. Perhaps a total of 20 rooms on 3 floors plus a penthouse rental on top floor...

Dear Martin r from Boca Raton, Florida

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback on tripadvisor. THE HOTEL is very well and quiet situated in the heart of Lucerne. Some rooms look towards the "Vögeli" garden with big maple trees. Our team do their best to make your stay to your satisfaction.

We hope we can welcome you again at our hotel.
