It's just rooms in an office building shared with other businesses. There is a little Lounge room with a tv, but nowhere In the building to get drinks or food in the evening. The rooms are clean but very sparse and basic, they have heating but no air conditioners. My room was on the 5th floor and had a view over the lake, which was good. Breakfast is included in the tariff - adequate; wifi is also included but is very slow and works sporadically. Manageress very helpful. Location was good - walking distance to everything. Expensive for what it is, but then that's Switzerand, EVERYTHING is expensive.

Room Tip: Higher floor is better as they are renovating the 2nd floor.

If you are going to book this hotel do not do as we did and opt to save a little bit of money by booking a room with a shared bathroom!
We were happy with our room but when we ventured out to use the toilet and shower facilities we were disgusted. There was mould everywhere and a spider hanging down from the roof. Not to mention the fact that when they say shared bathroom they don't tell you that you are sharing with the hotel management school that operates in the same building. This was rather embarassing as we found oursleves to be case studies for the class in session as we slipped out of the bathroom in our towels in the morning after what was a pretty gross showering experience.
Also when we booked we were promised a sink facility in our room which there was not so this meant more unplesant trips to the bathroom of terror.
We were also not too happy to be woken up by the buliders at 7.30 am who were carrying out some renovations in the hotel.
The breakfast however was very good and staff were helpful enough. The hotel is in a great location and we had a nice river view from our window. I am sure other rooms are fine but I think the pictuires on the website can be a bit misleading.
We are not ones to normally complain about anything but this place provoked me enough to write this review.

Room Tip: Don't choose a room with a shared bathroom

Really good price. you will really enjoy the location as there is no noise, the river just in front, near the Center of the City, shops, KKL, trainstation, buses.... and restaurants.
The rooms were refreshed and all is perfect for a familly of 4 persons (including breakfast). Finding such rate in Luzern is not possible.
Do not hesitate to go there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the riverside. The back ones have view on an old castle tour

A big part of my research prior to our month long holiday in Europe was consumed with finding good quality accommodation for our family of 4. Where it was cheap (like Naples) we booked 2 rooms, but in some cities that was not the best option. Here we a had a wonderfully spacious family room overlooking the river at a fraction of the cost of the more 'up-market' hotels. We were only here for one night, really a transit stop en-route Milan. There was a lovely baclony to sit and sip a glass of wine. Very clean and airy, and with comfortable bedding and a largish bathroom. It took us 20 minutes to walk with backpacks to the the station, so not the 12 minutes it states on the web, though if you weren't burdened with luggage and there were no crowds, 12 minutes might be possible. Breakfast was plentiful and yummy. Reception is just a small room at the bottom. Staff were very matter-of-fact.....not the charming warm and friendly type we had encountered the rest of our trip, but just business like. Sometimes the charming, warm and friendly can make a world of difference to how welcome you feel though.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river and with a balcony.

We checked into a double room with balcony. As we were first time travel to Europe, the size of the reception area was shocking small but it was a small matter.

The hotel staffs were friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and modernly decorated and furnished. We have a balcony overlooking the river but was on the lower stream after the dam so the water level at this part is always low.

The hotel is a good 15~20 mins walk from the main train station. You can choose to pass the old town on your way. You will pass the famous Kapell-Brucke.

However the bed we had have a soft spot right where your neck will rest and that's very uncomfortable. As we only staying for 2 nights, we didn't ask for any replacement and I think that is quite not possible anyway.

Another bad taste was the offered exchange rate from Euro to CHF which the hotel offer a very low rate of 1.15, we had earlier another hotel offered 1.20 and the street rate is 1.25.

Overall, it was a nice decent hotel with some good breakfast served.
