The view worth by itself. However, it is must if we consider the musical historical background of the house, and especially with you are a music lover.

The house where Wagner lived for 6 years and composed some of his most memorable works, including the Siegfried Idyll, first performed on the staircase of the house as Cosima Wagner's surprise birthday present.

Let's face it, you'll know if you want to look round one of the houses where Wagner lived. Getting to walk up 'that' staircase will either be a must do or have no interest whatsoever. This review will have no impact on your decision.
That said, Tribschen is worth the trip. A beautifully maintained building with helpful staff.
During our visit there were two exhibitions running.
Most of the written material is in German but there are two longish DVD presentations running in English (a life of Wagner from the BBC and a 'making of' the Chereau Ring).
The museum is in a beautiful location too: it's an easy 25min stroll from the town centre (just make sure you go behind the yacht club when you reach it and up the hill, do not be fooled by what seems the obvious way along the front!) or there is a lovely old boat service that that stops directly outside.

Spent an interesting couple of hours touring the museum and grounds. Interesting (and commendable) that they include clips from movies of Wagner's life that reveal his egotism as well as his talent. I felt I gained a better appreciation of how he lived here and what he accomplished in this place.

A charming house on the lake, this museum not only has some of Wagner's personal possessions (such as his piano), but provides much historical info about the composer and gives an opportunity to listen to much of his music.
