A we were a big group of 11, I tried to scout around for a cheaper alternative to hotels and found this overrated the website. The price for 2 bedroom plus 2 sofa beds was very reasonable for 4 nights stay, but I was worried there was not enough beds for all of us.
Getting to the place was easy. We came from Brienz and stopped at Lucerne station to transfer to bus no 20. About 6 stops away and within 3min we were at the apartment. Check in was easy, except we waited quite a while for the lady to open the door for us. When she found out we had 11 pax, she offered 2 extra mattresses at no extra costs, but we took only one as the kids could share the beds.
It was actually 2 separate apartments - 1 studio, with 1 double bed and a sofa bed; and one 1 room with a living room, with 3 beds in the room and 1 sofa bed in the living room. And a nice balcony. Very spacious for us. Kitchen was just a counter with induction stove but it was sufficient for us to do simple cooking. Clean, modern and comfortable, with wifi too. Laundry can be done by buying a card for 20F, with each wash or dry deducted at 1.20F, but it is non refundable if we do not use it up. Automatic blinds come down at the push of a button to give us privacy and keep the sunlight out when the kids go to bed (as it's summer, sun sets only at around 9.30pm).
Location was pretty good, with bus 20 serving every 15min, and a Migros supermarket around the corner. Only problem is it doesn't open on Sunday, which is our day of arrival. But it's ok, as the train station is 10 min away, which is where the restaurants and the old town are located.
It was definitely a good stay at an affordable price, with options to do our own cooking as well.
