Exactly what you would hope for staying in Switzerland for top dollar. Highly recommended for business trips or vacations. Location could not be better - perfectly situated on the lake and across the street from the main square. Bus and tram are right beside.

This is a strange review. The hotel is all class - impeccable service, friendly & efficient staff, and the location on the lake is unsurpassed. The bedrooms are large and spacious, with equally large and spacious bathrooms. The meeting and convention service is top class too. So I have to wonder why they spoil it all with rock hard, springless mattresses and flat pillows on the bed? Why be premium at all levels and then be totally poor on the most important aspect of a hotel i.e. sleep quality. I spent 3 nights there and managed about 7 hours of sleep, constantly waking up with sore hips, a stiff neck and an aching back. Given that the major hotel chains are competing on the comfort of mattresses and sleep quality, this 5-star hotel has dramatically fallen behind.

I stayed in Beau-Rivage Hotel at Neuchatel beginning of 2013; this was not my first stay at this nice hotel, where the service and staff are excellent. I had a nice rooom with a view to Neuchatel Lake, and a comfortable bed. Free wi-fi internet connections for both my iphone and laptop, and fast internet of Switzerland were very useful for me. I had skype with home without any interruption or disturbance.
I had one of my dinner at Hotel, and it was fantastic. If you ask my experience, I will rate 5 out of 5. I had recommendation of chef, a perfect steak with a wonderful red wine. The price is a bit higher but compared with the service and facilities offered it is not really expensive. It is on the center square of Neuchatel, just near the lake. You can go to shopping by walk, and can enjoy the public transport easily.
I recommend this hotel who will visit Neuchel and looking for a fine hotel.

Room Tip: First floor with a lake view rooms will be very nice. In a clear day, you can see Alps at the other...

My second time here and unlikely to be my last. Very attentive, professional service. The place never seems busy which is great if you’re on business and want somewhere peaceful to stay in the centre of town with all the facilities you’d expect. Lovely setting overlooking the lake. The first time I stayed I had a massive room with a dedicated private lounge area. One of my colleagues had a corner room with balconies on two sides. The second time I stayed I had a smaller room and the window was rather small which wasn’t too nice. Good breakfast. Good piano bar too. I’ll be back without doubt.

We stayed at the Beau Rivage on our last visit to Neuchatel, and it compares favourably to hotels in Europe, in general. The rooms are smaller than most North Americans are probably used to, but they are well appointed and clean. Much thought has gone into the decor of this hotel, and the modern interior manages to both differ from, and compliment, the older, classic exterior.
It is well located. The Beau Rivage is right on the water front of Lac Neuchatel (the largest lake that lies entirely within Switzerland), and is also on the edge of Neuchatel's downtown area. If you are arriving by train, and have a great deal of luggage, take a taxi for check in. If you come to Neuchatel by train, and have only a piece of carry-on, consider walking. It is a bit of a walk, but from Neuchatel station, it is all downhill and a very pleasant stroll.
The staff are polite, friendly and efficient. The same can be said of every hotel we have stayed at in Switzerland, but it is still nice.
The only downside is that it is a bit pricey, even by European (and Swiss) standards.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a lake view. You will pay more, and you may not actually look out the windo...

The Beau Rivage is a very nice hotel. Service is exceptional and it is centrally located with a beautiful view of Lake Neuchatel. The piano bar is very comfortable and a great place to visit at the end of the day. Breakfast is delicious - make sure you don't miss it. You can walk to the main downtown core in 2 minutes. Highly recommend this spot.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a large window facing the lake.

Stayed here on business for 2nights in Sept. It was superb.

Excellent spacious and quiet room, beautiful restaurant and perfectly located on the lake and the edge of Neuchatel centre. The staff could not have been more helpful and this is somewhere I sincerely hope to stay in again.

Oh and do visit the stunning little chocolate shop in Neuchatel centre, about 5 mins from Beau-Rivage. Slurp!
