this romantic hideout is situated in a beautiful green little valley right in the middle of neuchatel. the rooms are rather spacious and the old building was renovated very tastefully. each of the rooms features a huge bathroom, a nice but not so useful feature - as we went there in June, we didn't use the tub. the bed could have been more comfortable, too bad they chose rather cheap furniture there. very much liked the breakfast, a delicious selection of french "viennoiseries" and cheese, all served with a smile. a very cosy place for a romantic hideout - unfortunately, the stay alone stretched our funds a lot so we were not able to try the famous restaurant. if you're feeling generous, go for it.

Last Christmas, we received a Smartbox which is a kind a voucher (1 night with buffet breakfast for 2, choice between 20 destinations). As we already heard about the restaurant, we thought it was the occasion to eat at there and spent a night.

First of all, we have to speak about of the location. That is right that the hotel is located in the middle of a industry zone and highway bridges, but, and it is the most important thing, you do not see anything of that, because the hotel is in a narrow valley and surrounded by greenery. You are in a other world...

The room was very large and comfortable, it was not in a pristine condition, but, was more that ok. The owners have done a lot about the decoration and as the hotel is a old brewery it is a quite charming place to stay. We had a room on the river and it was quite noisy. I slept very well but my husband did not. So it is up to you to ask for a room in the front or on the river.
The food is just excellent…original and inventive. If you like near molecular cooking and unexpected taste association, it is a good place to eat. Good things have a price and it is not cheap. The restaurant is in a very big veranda and there are large terraces. Breakfast was nice.
