The gondola ride to the top of First Mtn is unlike any I have experienced. It was difficult to know where to look, as all the views were spectacular. There views from the top abound and are a photographers dream.

My boyfriend and I did the First Fun package. We took the cable car up to First, then did a zip line down to Schreckfeld on what they called a 'flyer.' It was pretty exhilerating and you can take your camera on the zipline and make a video! We then took the cable car back up to First and took an easy hike to the most beautiful lake called Bachalpsee. Its not your usual lake. We were above the tree line so there's just rolling green grassy hills. It was windy when we first got there but in about 25 minutes it calmed down and we got great pictures of the snowy mountains perfectly reflected in the still water. It's a great spot for lunch. We then hiked back to First and took the cable car down to Bort. You can hike or bike all of the way down but it's really steep so I recommend hiking from Grindelwald to Bort on another day to get a good look at the mountains and the beautiful homes and farms, that what we did the day before. After the cable car to Bort we got out and took trottbikes, which are kind of like scotters but much faster , down the rest of the mountain to Gribdelwald. This was all part of the Fun First package and cost only 74 franc. What a fun filled day!

Whether you want to hike, have some action or just want to enjoy the great view, Mount First offers it all. The small gondolas take you in approximately 30 minutes up to over 2100 metres. Be sure to have your camera ready already by then. You can enjoy a fantastic scenery out of the gondola. On the peak you have the greatest view of all. In around 50 minutes you reach the Bachalpsee here from, an idyllic lake with a great panorama view. If you are looking for some more action, you can take the First Flyer down to Schreckfeld. Here you either choose the gondola down to the station Bort or you hike there (ca. 50 min). I recommend the latter. In Bort you get yourself a trottibike and drive back to Grindelwald. This adventure you can book in one ticket, called "Fun Package First" for 79.00 CHF per person. Included is the gondola, the First Flyer and the trottibike.

Good ride up to a superb vantage point for seeing the huge Eiger and its neighbouring mountains. You can take a ride back down on one of their scooter/bikes or walk, or return in the Gondola. From the top station the Bachalpsee is about a 40 minute walk and well worth it.
