Very nice hotel - not too far away from the cable railway, there is always a bus to bring you down to the small and nice village. You can ski directly to the hotel if you know the way, very comfortable. Very clean, very good food, nice rooms, friendly staff, what do you need more? The only thing i noted in the hotel that the drinks are expensive, especially wine and cocktails.

Room Tip: The hotel was very quiet, if you sleep on the first floor you can hear the music downstairs, but the stop early.

The location of this small hotel, about 2 Km out of town, gives you peace and quiet beyond what you'll have in any other lodging in the area. Views are also the best (we wandered into several other hotels). The primary dining room has excellent food with stunning views. But the standard hotel rooms are way too small. On the other hand, the hotel has several condos which are much larger, of course, but for some reason we couldn't explain, they are cheaper. Insist on one with a mountain view. You'll use your car to go anywhere, and parking downtown can be a challenge; but the awesom location of the hotel will make all that problem insignificant. We hope to return here another time. Hard to find this hotel in guide books but is featured in the one called Ralais de Silence, or "Quiet Inns." Pack your bags and your skis (winter) or hiking shoes (in other seasons.) Run to your nearest Swiss Air flight to Zurich.

Room Tip: Book only a condo facing the tallest mountains, and preferably up the hill behind the hotel.

Stayed here with two kids (3 years; and 7 months). Staff were very friendly; the superior room was great with a balcony and view of the EIger; the buffet breakfast was excellent with a big selection of choices; the hotel is only a short (5 minute) walk from the main Grindelwald street (the path is down a steepish slope which can be slippery when it's icy/snowy)

Our 3 night stay at the Hotel Kirchbuhl in Grindelwald was beyond fabulous. The room was comfortable and immaculate with amazing views of the Eiger and surrounding mountains. The hotel staff were superbly accommodating, we loved the ambiance of the entire hotel, and the breakfast (included with the room) was amazing. You can also ski in and ski out from the hotel, which was a wonderful surprise for us. I definitely recommend Hotel Kirchbuhl for any travelers looking for a high end (but not overly fancy) stay in what might be one of the most beautiful places in the world

Room Tip: We highly recommend room 203, a superior double room on the corner of the second floor with a more than 180 degree view of the surrounding mountains.
