Having stayed at this hotel I would recommend it to others as a very peaceful non smoking acommodation option. We stayed four nights and had a lovely stay. Good breakfast, helpful hosts, excellent location with lovely views and very peaceful. We loved hearing the cow bells. Good location also for commencing walks in many directions- recommended.

We stayed in Hotel Cabana for 2 nights in August 2007. It is a small hotel run by the Bohren family who personally attend to every guest. It is a cute wooden chalet, more like a house, like the most in Alps. We had a room with the famous Eiger and valley view. The hotel is at short walking distance from the train station.
The room was large and comfortable, very nice bathroom, and the balcony opening to the Eiger and the Grindelwald valley view was amazing. Other than the 2 standard chairs, they had also put a sun bench, if u want to laze around.
The room had all the facilities of a standard hotel like coffee maker, bar, tv, hair dryer, etc alongwith a welcome chocolate.
It is a bed and breakfast hotel. Breakfast is served in the small restaurant downstairs. There is no bell service as it is run by the family itself and not much staff around most of the day. Which is very good thing because of the quiet and peace that reigns here. Internet access, sauna and fitness room were included in our room tariff. Fitness room is open 24 hours and you can access it whenever u wish. The sauna is also available till 10 pm in the night. You only have to give half an hour prior notice for it to be ready. It is a very nice sauna worth the price.
Overall a great experience. Very happy with the service, warm hospitality and cosy feel of the house. Would stay again for sure.

We spent 3 very short days at this wonderful place, and it was fantastic. The staff are all extremely helpful, and even let my daughter plug in her MP3 player to charge in one of the computers! The internet access let me catch up on news from the kids at home. Lovely rooms, we had a room with a kitchenette which was a boon as we could be self sufficient for a while. Big, spotlessly clean, comfortable, and the view was unbelievable. One word of warning - there is a pretty steep hill to trudge up to get to the 'town' area (i.e. shops), with no public transport. it was quite a mission to get up there loaded with luggage, so if you have a problem with walking at all, you are warned. BUT - I have arthritic feet and I would stay there again if I had the opportunity, it would be worth it.
Although it does have a bit of a hill to climb, it is very close to the station, and out of the busy part of town, which we liked.

My husband and I have stayed here every time we visit Switzerland - it is a very charming, comfortable hotel with all the amenities that one could hope for, and then some.

We travel through Europe extensvely, and this hotel offers one of the most comfortable room settings with the most gorgeous, relaxing view of the mountains and the village one could imagine, as well as one of the very best breakfast buffets we've found anywhere!

The service is extremely pleasant, personable, helpful, they even offer great advice on hiking and other local activities, and the location can't be beat --- easy to get to, parking included, a short walk from the train, the cable cars, the quaint village.

Just returned from 2 nights at this hotel on a week-long trip through central Switzerland. Hotel is listed as 3 star but it is much nicer than any other 3 star hotel I have stayed at! Rooms are very clean and spacious, bright colors, and new furniture. Not to mention the view from the patio/balcony! Breakfast buffet is adequate. Staff was very pleasant, spoke English well. Also, the hotel is just at the entrance to Grindelwald, so is not noisy at all, but is just five minute walk to shops/restaurants/cable cars. Very convenient. Will definitely return next time in Grindelwald.

My wife and I have just returned from a fantastic weekend at the Hotel Cabana in Grindelwald.

Our criteria was to find a family-run chalet, with traditional swiss charm that offered a great location without breaking the bank.

What we got with the Cabana far exceeded our expectations! The view was, quite simply, stunning. In all my years of travelling this was simply unbeatable. All rooms are south facing with balconies or private patios, and due to Grindelwalds location all have a view over a luch green valley surrounded my snow-capped mountains on all sides.

All rooms are clean and comfortable and spacious, with mini bar and cable TV. The hotel also has internet terminals and wireless capability.

The breakfast was simply superb! A sumptious spread of wonderful swiss goodies, all served with extra touch of loving care you only get with a family that is obviously takes a pride in the business.

When you consider the fact that this hotel is a 3 star plus, it really is the icing on the cake. The weekend offered us fantastic value for money, and the entire experience really did put so many other more reputed 4 star hotel chains to shame!

This is the 3rd time I stay at Hotel Garni Cabana in the wonderful Grindelwald. It is a very quiet location with magnificent panorama. Located only 5 minutes walk from village center and shops. The rooms are very comfortable, extremely clean, big balconies, minibar, Cable TV and nice tube bathroom. The buffet breakfast is excellent for all tastes. Mrs. Bettina is a very nice person, extremely helpful. She speaks fluent english. Spent 10 delightful nights and will return again and again. The hotel has its own parking (included in room price).
