We ate here on a rainy night in Interlaken. We were a bit worried because a tourist group of a few dozen got in front of us as we were about to enter the restaurant, but the service was fine. The restaurant certainly portrays and prices itself as fine dining, so we were surprised when the waitress did not present or allow my wife to first try the wine, she just poured full glasses. She also reached right across my wife to fill my glass rather than walk to the other corner of the table.

We got the cheese plate dessert as an appetizer and it was ok. We both had the lauded steak that was from a swiss cow. We got a sirloin for the price of a fillet, and it was slightly underdone. There is a large dessert menu and all of the options looked great.

All in all not bad, but one time was enough for a place we rarely visit.

There is a lovely terrace to have a drink and watch the parapentists landing on the main green in the town. I tried a Café Schuh which was coffee and whipped cream, but the coffee itself was not that good.

The location of this restaurant is really good - centre of the main street in Interlaken. The food is decent with some dishes being a hit and others a miss.

The service is quite bad and the staff are unpleasant. We were told that we would be charged for serviettes, forks, and knives because we were 5 and ordered 3 dishes because we weren't particularly hungry. That's odd given the place charges an easy CHF30 per dish - not cheap by any standards. The waiting staff were not friendly not just towards us, but other foreign travellers either it seemed. It appeared that they would have preferred we left.

The live music was good.

In terms of food, it was good. In terms of service, I don't recommend to go.
I felt horrible experience to use VIP pass coupon. Servers seem to discriminate the coupon users.
Without coupon, it was pricy seeing the food.

Situated where it is, on the main tourist strip and next to the public gardens we were not expecting to be particularly overwhelmed. We just wanted a coffee and cake. We were very pleasantly surprised. We chose an outside table and were serenaded throughout our visit by an excellent keyboard player, not raucous or intrusive - just pleasant and in tune, unlike most of his ilk in the UK. We sat and after just enough time to choose our coffee, Cappuccino for me Latte for her with two slices of Black Forest Gateaux before our server arrived and with a minimum of fuss too, and swiftly delivered our order. When we finished there was none of the usual agonising embarrassment of attempting to ask for the bill - as if by magic a server appeared and gently enquired if we would like anything further whilst presenting the bill seemingly all in one fluid and unhurried movement. Simple coffee and cake ? ,certainly, but spotless surroundings, brisk service, generous portions and our visit was almost as flawless as a Swiss Watch - almost? Well my Lady Wife would have swapped just a little bit of metronomic efficiency for a tiny bit more warmth from our server but on the whole will we return. Absoluteley
