The hotel is in walkable distance from Interlaken west station.Near to many restaurants including Migros. The reception staffs were very good and helpful.Hotel allows to keep bags in an open room after check out for sometime(our responsibility)As the other reviewers said the young lady in the dining was very serious(may be too overloaded) but we didn't had to worry about that, receptionist (I think the owner ) showed us our table and we had a nice breakfast.Fan is missing here also like many hotels in Switzerland,I would suggest at least a wall mounted variable speed fan.We were traveling from Saudi Arabia and were having dry hot summer and the humidity in Interlaken was unbearable for us.So fan will be a good addition to this hotel and will add more good ratings to this beautiful hotel.

Loved the hotel and the location. Rooms were also very nice. Everything was great , even the receptionist was very sweet and helping. The only thing that we dint like was the people serving us at the breakfast hall. She was so rude and just looked really pissed off for some reason. It was like she is doing us a favour by serving us breakfast. I mean how can you treat your guests like that. She made sure our mornings mornings were ruined. Apart from her foul attitude, the hotel was warm and welcoming. And location was perfect

We stayed for two nights at the end of July. Probably two of the hottest nights of the summer so far in Switzerland. The room was warm, but what hotel room isn't in Europe in the summer. Our room was small but had a balcony so we were able to open both doors and get a good breeze. The room was fine and was clean.

In terms of service. The young woman at reception when we checked in was lovely. Showed us around a bit - helped us figure out where to get the bus we needed the next morning. However, the breakfast staff and the woman at reception when we departed were not friendly. Just short of rude, in my book. We didn't want to sit in the sun at breakfast (it was already about 80 degrees and it was only 9:30am) but were told we could not sit at a table inside because there were none that had coffee cups and there were only tables for 4 left (we were only 2 people). I should note, of the 8 or 9 tables inside only 4 were occupied. Okay fine - if you are expecting more people and have the tables reseved, then okay. However, my biggest issue is with the attitude we got when we were told we couldn't sit inside. It's not a nice way to start your day and something that could have easily been fixed with a smile and an "Es tut mir leid".

Just 3 minutes from Interlaken West station, it was very convenient for day trips, though you do have to transfer at Interlaken East for most Bberland trips (e.g. Jungfrau, Grindelwald etc), so this will add another 5-10 min to your trip.

The good - The mum and her daughter were very helpful, kind and honest people. They were very knowledgeable and able to provide ideas and weather updates to help you plan your trips. The breakfast included was continental with scrambled eggs, breads, cereals, OJ and tea, and was pretty good.

The less good - The room itself, we had a "budget room" at about USD$200 a night in summer (budget in Switzerland!). This meant hostel-like basic furniture, small sized room and bathroom in the attic level of the building. But it was pretty clean.

Beware - the walls are thin, so we were kept up till midnight by people talking in the next room.

Stayed for 3 nights. Daughter of owner was so lovely, made us feel welcome and was really helpful- can't say the same for the mum- every question we asked seemed too much trouble and one early evening relaxing in our room she came walking in without knocking to close the window- once she saw us lying on the bed she left, we were pretty puzzled why she didn't knock?! Walls are thin.. Kept awake by a man snoring in the next room, even through earplugs! The other thing was a strange smell in the room, can't quite put our finger on what it was...
Location is good but being a small town everything is close anyway. Wifi and views from room are great plus on site coin operated laundry is a bonus.
