Hotel is very centrally located between Interlaken Ost and Interlaken West Station (though more closer to Interlaken Ost). Main Interlaken Park and center of all activities is just next to the hotel. Lobby and lift are bit small but rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: Hotel is good if you are looking for central location and spending most of the times outdoors. Rooms...

If you want to awake to a spectacular view of the Alps, stay at the Hotel du Nord. You have to pay a slight upgrade fee, but it was so worth it. The room was nice and large. Very clean. The breakfast buffet was delicious and open till 10AM. The location was great too - a short walk from the Interlaken Ost train station -10 minutes max. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Pay the upgrade for the room with a view. Check out my picture.

We were staying 2 nights with another couple and booked this hotel because of its location primarily. The website said it was a 7 minute walk from Interlaken Ost station - spot on. It doesn't look attractive from the main road but turn the corner to the entrance and its fine, overlooking the big park and with views towards the Jungfrau.
Reception was pleasant and easy and the deluxe rooms we booked had a good size balcony looking towards the mountains. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the pillow excellent.
Dinner is not provided and the bar is tiny. Breakfast was excellent though with a good choice.
WIFI was free in the lobby but reception was very poor.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend the hotel to others.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra and get a deluxe room for more space, a balcony and a decent view

We ordered a triple room. The toilet was poor. The curtains in the room were horrible and let all the lights in. The Main Street light just outside the room kept us awake the whole night. We booked on booking.com and left the next day. Don't advise this hotel to anyone. The manager and staff were very friendly though

The hotel is on the edge of the town of Interlaken, which is in within easy walking distance. The train station is also about 10 minutes away. Parking is free behind the hotel. They have bikes to rent at a reasonable rate. We enjoyed bike rides through the town to both lakes. The hotel provides a free bus pass for one day. The bus can take you right round the lake I believe. We didn't use it but if you didn't want to bike this would be a good alternative. The room was clean, a little old fashioned. Breakfast was included and was served in a lovely room. There is an outside area to sit in. You can purchase tours at reception. One note, wifi is only free in the reception area, though the rate seemed reasonable.

10 mins walking distance from Interlaken Station. Great location to explore the town on foot. Good base if you are travelling to Jungfrau,Lake Thun, Lake Brienz. The central street has wonderful swiss chocolate and watch shops. Decent restaurant.

An older style hotel, immaculately kept and with very charming reception and lovely mountain views. It is well located about 10 minutes' dead level walk on good footpaths from the Interlaken Ost station.

While the rooms were large (ours was a double, 204) and well equipped (for example a kettle and a safe) and very clean, some things are falling behind the times. The bed was hard and creaky, and the bathroom, which is built into the room's corner Ibis-style, only offers that skin-drying liquid soap and features a toilet that seems to be barely off the ground!

Internet access cost us 35 SF per hour and the breakfast was just average.

Room Tip: Go for the mountain and park view

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The history of the Hotel Du Nord goes back to the early 19th Century with the advent of tourism in the region. Until then, Interlaken, or the “Bodeli” as it was known (from the name of the flat plain between the two lakes, which was created by glacial sediment from the mountain rivers), had been mainly visited by religious pilgrims or commercial travellers, who would stop to rest their weary legs in one of the few local hostels after the arduous journey over the mountains. This changed once the first tourists started visiting the Jungfrau Region, lured by the works of well-known writers and descriptions the first alpine farming festivals. In 1814, the resourceful businessman and councillor Jakob Seiler recognised the potential of these new visitors and built the »Pension Seiler« at the eastern end of today’s Höhematte, on the historical foundations of the former convent. Ten years later, the hotel was renamed the »Pension du Casino« to cater to the health conscious crème de la crème ... more   less
