We stayed two nights here, during Swiss National Holiday weekend. That's probably why the rate was so inflated. It is very close to the train station, which we didn't care because we had a rental car. Booking.com indicated parking was $10 per night, however, when we arrived the Front Desk informed us only garage spaces were available at $15 per night. We think that is total misrepresentation!! We felt cheated but complied and paid.

It consists of two separate buildings, connected by the one story reception and dining areas. Morning breakfast is included as part of the room rate. There is a small dining room area, and a larger one where the tour group ate (which could be a little loud)

The hotel is very close to Old Town, has a restaurant on site and a night club that played booming music into the wee hours. Our room was on the second floor, you can hear the music until 3 am along with people screaming at each other. The corner room had two private balcony areas facing the main street, which was awesome for viewing the fire works show, unbelievable sight! We didn't realize the room could be smoking, but did not smell any smoke so that was good.

This area doesn't get too warm, so hotel room without AC was just fine. It had a fan. The beds are pushed together so it is about the size of a queen. Breakfast is included with the room rate. The room is very large, however, the floor slanted towards the middle. Our bureau for clothing tilted one way that's quite noticeable.

If we visit Interlaken again, we will definitely look elsewhere. One positive note is that the Front Desk staff is very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main street and not on top of the night club or restaurant that has act...

The location of this hotel - an easy walk from the Interlaken Ost train station is great. Its a nice old building, but the renovations are kind of odd and feel a bit cheap. But, for the area, its not expensive, and more than adequate. I was upgraded to a front room with a balcony overlooking the river, so that was very nice, and the reception desk staff were friendly and helpful. I thought the breakfast was fine - plenty, and good variety. My only complaint would be the shower - the water pressure was really strong, but the shower head just wouldn't stay in the right spot, which made for a funny shower!

Made to feel very welcome on arrival with offer of iced tea. We were supplied with lots of maps and information and with this local advice ended up saving us time and money, reference Schilthorn excursion as opposed to Jungfrau particularly with inclement weather. In the end we didn't either as both peaks were whited out. Room was pleasant with a little balcony overlooking town. Bathroom was manageable for a taller man. Hotel is a mix of old world charm and modern conveniences. Good breakfasts. Well located to train station and boat harbour and only minutes walk away from the shops and lots of cafes and restaurants. Would recommend this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights as our base for a guided train holiday. We received a very friendly welcome from Lin and Nicole which included a refreshing glass of iced tea and a short history and description of the hotel. Having already read some reviews we were delighted to be allocated a room in the Europe side of the hotel. On arriving there we were even more delighted to discover that we had one of the double aspect rooms, and a balcony which had views of mountains, including a peep of the Jungfrau. I think the room was 304. The bed was exceedingly comfortable and there was plenty of traditional furniture and good tea and coffee facilities. No air conditioning but a very large fan. We were also able to have windows wide open and were not disturbed by noise. The bathroom included a shower over the bath and a hair dryer. Breakfasts were delicious and included an awesome selection of fresh bread. There was always scrambled eggs and another cooked alternative, depending on the nationality of other parties in the hotel. Also cereals, fruit and standard continental selections. Dinners in the evening were adequate, but perhaps a little unimaginative., with the exception of the 'Swiss Buffet' on the last night which was amazing. A comfortable lounge with a bar provided a welcome relaxation and meeting area. All the staff at the hotel were brilliant - friendly, polite and helpful at all times. I would certainly recommend this hotel as a comfortable base from which to enjoy this beautiful area. It's proximity to the railway station made it very convenient for travel. Finally, a trip up Harder Kulm via the funicular railway, just across the road from the hotel is highly recommended for fabulous views of the area. I would be very happy to stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a double aspect room with balcony and views. Room 304 was good.

The room was we bad and not fresh. The staff was extremely rude there were 2 female staff and one male manager. They insulted two ladies as they wanted to check out before their time and also asked them to pay for the night they stayed + two more nights as they had to pay the company the booking was done through but when enquired with the booking company the company told us that they do not have anything to do with this. More over there was a water heating machine (for tea/coffee) but there were no coffee/tea sachets given (complimentary as done in all the hotels world over) they asked us to buy coffee/tea sachets and milk sachets how ridiculous is this. We will never ever recommend this hotel to anyone. Very disappointed with the entire experience.

Just a short walk away from Interlaken Ost station this hotel has large spacious rooms and wide balconies overlooking the street with a view of the mountains.
Carlton Europe has a a mix of vintage and modern with wooden floors and tea makers . The best part is the ever helpful staff who provides a 10 min session as soon you check in.
Price wise its a little on the higher side and the Pakistani rest is quite pathetic.
