“What a disappointment”

Description: The menu of the restaurant "La Terrasse" is inspired by the cuisine from the South of France. The fresh and warm colors, the plants as well as the furnishing remind of an "Orangerie" of this region.

“What a disappointment”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

Highlights - our server and the pianist.
The food was a serious disappointment - we decided on the "Pork 6 ways" - oh yum, right? Wrong.
Each course was un-inspired:
1. The pork terrine w/ ham - visually appealing, but the terrine had very little flavor, and did not need the dry pastry.
2. The pork won-ton with bed of cous-cous - this was flavorful, probably the best course.
3. Meatballs? REALLY??
4. Pork 'hot dog' with bun and fancy ketchup and mustard. The dog was kind of tasty, but nothing exceptional.
5. OK - this is the MAIN course - 3 more variations on pork.....*sigh* the bacon was overcooked/burnt; the 'roast' was dry; the asparagus was overcooked....
6. Dessert - bacon ice cream, served with undercooked pastry and a couple of grapes...
If it weren't for the great wine (2000 Haut Bages Paulliac that *I* had to choose as the maître d' had no clue what to recommend with this menu -- this is unacceptable in a restaurant of this alleged caliber), service and music, this would have been a complete $600+ bust.

“Average and uninventive”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

Good breakfasts are served here and service is attentive, perhaps too attentive as the plates are almost pulled away from under your nose as soon as you put down your fork. As for dinner it was good, but the menu uninventive, in fact 2 out of 3 options for starters were vegetarian. Most definitely the quarant uno restaurant at the same hotel is a much better choice.

“Good but costly”
Reviewed 23 November 2013 via mobile

Love everything we ate but the bill was a big WOW! Our waiter was super nice, would have never know that he's been there for 3 weeks.

“Best French Toast in Switzerland”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

I had the French Toast and it was perfect. The best I've had in Switzerland. The service was outstanding and the selection of other food at the buffet was also of the highest quality.

“A bit pricey but excellent”
Reviewed 26 August 2013

Not to be missed if in Interlaken, best restaurant in town and definitely worth a detour. Prices on the high side, but they reflect the Gault-et-Millau rating.
