Homey room for two nights with large rooms, nice hot showers and so quiet! Walter was a champion, so nice and Friendly and to top it off he left toblerones on our pillows! Not too far from town and close to the ski hire shop. Would highly recommend for a quiet stay in interlaken!

The B&B is easy enough to get to from Interlaken Ost station (mostly straight roads) and it'll take a good 15mins walk but 7-10mins run/jog (if one is rushing to catch a train ;))

To enter, just proceed up the steps and press the buzzer with a 'W' in the name. Yes, 'Walter' isn't on the buzzer namelist. Walter is rather friendly and he'd have your reservation slip/receipt pasted on the door handle before your arrival.

The rooms are huge! Walter also places some complementary postcards and chocolates on the bedside drawers to welcome you to the nicely kept room. Please bear in mind that he keeps the place tidy all by himself and the place is not a hotel. Those looking for a grandiose and well decorated room should look elsewhere.

I went there in late Nov 2013 and the rooms were well heated even though it was snowing outside. The toilet/bathroom is also huge and hot water is always available :)

Travellers looking to save some money may also cook in the kitchen which is well stocked with pots/pans/cutlery though it is recommended to wash them before usage.

Unfortunately I couldn't try his breakfast as I was only there for a night and had to leave very early in the morning.

Don't forget to sign off in the guest book before leaving!

Walters was a good 15 mins walk from the Interlaken Ost station. It is relatively easy to navigate. Just walk straight from Allmendstrasse (the road to the right of Coop), past two traffic round-about and you will find Walters B&B.
We were late (according to our stated time of arrival) and there was no one around when we reached Walters B&B. So we make our way into the apartment by ourselves from the door at the right side. When we finally found Mr Walters, he was friendly and had already prepared a room for us. We were greeted with postcards and mini Toblerone chocolates.
Our room was spacious. Our room is clean (we didn't find cobwebs) but not as sparkling fresh as hotel standards. There is a kitchen and large bathroom, both shared, but since there was no other travellers at the level that we were staying, we had the facilities to ourselves.
The corridor smelled a bit musty when we entered and the floor of our room was very cold at night (we stayed in mid Nov).
The place was quiet and we had a great view of the mountains at the South from the surroundings outside the apartment.
The location is slightly far for us (due to our heavy luggage), but it was a quiet and peaceful stay. Would recommend if you do not mind sharing bathroom and facilities, is not too particular with cleanliness and like a B&B with a homey feel.

Walters B&B is a convenient and well equipped B&B that is walking distance from Interlaken Ost station. Our experience with the B&B went off to a bumpy start (due to our own fault) but Walter's winning personality and the B&B's many conveniences quickly won us over.

We had arrived 2-3 hours earlier than the time stated on our booking form, and had to wait on the front porch for a while as Walter was out. When he returned and realised his guests were waiting at his doorstep, he was so apologetic it made me feel sorry. We were swiftly taken to our room, a spacious room for 2 with shared bathroom. The room was furnished with a queen bed and a single bed, wardrobe, dining table and chairs, and plenty more room for you to place your luggage and do cartwheels around the room. Clean towels and a hair dryer was also provided. Chocolates and cute postcards placed on the side tables added a lovely warm touch. The shared bathroom was directly outside our room and easily accessible. There was a small kitchenette well equipped with stove, refrigerator, electric kettle, utensils, dishes and basic cooking implements, making it easy to whip up a simple meal with ingredients bought from the nearby Coop (at Interlaken Ost). Walter was nice enough to check in on us once we settled down, to see if there was anything we needed. Upon seeing me pick up my phone, he immediately reminded me that there was free wifi available (very thoughtful). His kind gestures were well appreciated by us.

This B&B is unpretentious and homey. It is doesn't try to be a trendy B&B and is certainly not one. It is not well decorated and may even be a little rough around the edges with a spiderweb at the corner of the window. But if you are looking for a simple well-located B&B with clean amenities and a thoughtful host, you will feel right at home here. Not to mention it has excellent price-quality ratio :)

Although Walter was friendly and the price was cheap (for Interlaken standards), I didn't like it. This B&B is overrated: it is not very clean, there are cobwebs, the breakfast is not very good, the shower temperature is difficult to regulate ...

It's a good place for backpackers but not for families with children.

Just came back a week ago from staying with Walter. My friend and I stayed 5 nights at his place. I have stayed with him once before and I would stay with him again if I have the opportunity to come back to Interlaken, which I hope I will be back soon.
I love this place you feel like you are at home. You can come and go as you please, have access to a full kitchen and a side yard with a large fish pond.
The rooms are very large and comfortable. The breakfast are great for 7 CH. Enough food for lunch and then some. It is an easy walk to the train station and the local COOP (grocery store).
Walter is a kind and welcoming person. He showed us around his property and told us many interesting things about Interlaken and his property. He even paid for a taxi one day because his car was broken.
Walter runs this B and B all by himself. May not be the Hilton but it for the cost and comfort it is well worth it. It beats the heck out of staying in a hostel. And for Switzerland the cost can't be beat.
Come and try it you will like it. Staying in a traditional swiss home, not in a box with a bed!!

My hats off to Walter for a very relaxing and enjoyable time. Hope to see you soon.

Thanks for the memories!

Room Tip: If possible choose a room with a balcony on the first floor. Less stairs!!

Walter was not there when we arrived however he left a note indicating what room we were assigned to. Room was big and clean. Breakfasts was great for the price since Switzerland is very expensive. There was more than enough to eat and as mentioned before he provided bags to pack a lunch if desired. The location is a short 7 minute walk to town and about 10 to the interlaken east station.
