A chilly late May day with snow still lying around and snow in the air - ah summer in Switzerland....
We had walked to Murren along the trail up from Grutschlap (top of the cable car ride from Lauterbrunnen) and were looking for a warm and firendly restaurant for a warming lunch.
At the far end of town we found the Hotel Alpenruh and this was the perfect place for all our requirements. And a great view from the restaurant windows at well.....
In warmer weather the place to eat would be on the terrace or balcony outside.
We ordered a roschti each - mine with asparagus and the other half with bacon and a fried egg. We had tried roschti previously on this trip and now realise what a good meal it is, if made properly.
We finished with a shared fruit crumble and cream and had a beer and a glass of local wine to drink.
Total cost 52 Swiss Francs. Service was friendly and prompt.
