Was slightly surprised to get a table at the Alpenruh in Murren having called only an hour before, and as we arrived our waitress muttered something about the 'English'. The place was almost empty and she ushered us to sit down at a table by the kitchen. When we asked whether a table by the window might be available, the waitress was clearly irritated and informed us that we should have requested it when we made the reservation. After 2 minutes of watching her make up another table and be rude about us in Swiss German (which I understand btw), we walked out. I don't normally write reviews but pretty confident that good customer service would encourage more people to eat there. The owners should know that poor staff cost much more than their wages.
