We stayed here on half board for 8 nights at the end of August in association with our family. The walking possibilities and the punctual mountain train network are world class and the resort deserves more summer visitors than it gets.

Our room had a fine view of the mountains (wonderful at dawn, dusk and under the moon) and of the railway station (quiet and orderly with only a reassuring whirr from the occasional mountain trains). Everything is clean and bright with tasteful decoration and discreet colour (you may safely ignore prejudiced comparisons with Ikea). The room was quiet, clean and comfortable without being expensively luxurious; the flower-decked balconies are suitable to sit and relax under the sun-blinds. Lifts (or elevators, for the benefit of my American friends) come quickly.

Dining was excellent. All food was - without exception - precisely prepared and attractively presented.

A limited dinner menu probably keeps costs down (to guests’ benefit) but the quality was very high. The dinner menus were particularly well balanced for quantity, nutrition and taste. The almost nightly salad bar was a varied and plentiful delight; the weekly pudding bar was most delicately presented with a huge and free choice. Our individual family needs such as vegetarianism were recognized and remembered from day to day. All of our other specific daily requests were satisfied by giving the chef advance notice. We recommend the native Swiss wines as the best value.

The breakfast choice was generous – meat, cheese, smoked salmon, a top notch baked bread selection, fruit juice, diverse poached fruit and yoghurts, Muesli, waffles, sauces, fresh fruit, various eggs, nuts, jams (do not be misled by the website picture showing packet jams – there were also plenty of help-yourself Hero jams). The breakfast arrangements really catered for all tastes other than heart-attack “full English”. A wonderfully engineered coffee machine gives good choice, unlimited quantity and swift delivery.

The fitness and wellness area is clean and constantly staffed. It offers a fine salt pool with amusing devices that stimulate and exercise your mentionable and unmentionable body parts. The sauna was very well ordered and the sun room offers glorious peaceful and sleepy views of the mountains.

So what about staff? All were competent and diligent; the dining staff were particularly friendlily and thoughtfully attentive and warm-natured. We live in economic times when very intelligent and well qualified people are to be found in the hospitality industry; it was a delight to talk with them.

Would we go again? Yes we would. Even from a coldly financial viewpoint it is hard to imagine getting such an agreeable village, such good hotel facilities, such warm staff and such excellent cuisine anywhere in Britain (for example) at a rate for dinner, wine, bed & breakfast of well under £200 per day for two adults.

Room Tip: Above all, ask for what you need; staff are helpful and flexible. The sound insulation is good b...

This hotel is everything that you would/should expect. The breakfast is typical of a Swiss hotel, the selection is quite broad, it has a few things that other place don't, like a granola grinder--to make your own combination granola--, and missing a few things that other place do.

The spa/pool is really relaxing and nice. The staff is helpful and walks you through all the do's and don'ts.

It is very convenient for Jongfrau, but a suggestion...if you go up the mountain at a peak time of day you might have to stand on the train for the ascent.

Hotel room is well up to the standard, clean, quiet and nice view out of window. The room cost was the lowest among the six hotels I stayed in Switzerland, but the condition was the best. The location is good, very convenient. The free breakfast was wonderful, and the food of their resturant was excellent. You have to pay 5.50 CHF for a cup of tapwater, if you order it at the resturant, but this is the common practice in Europe resturant, very different from our experience in US. You may order beer or fruit juice, which are much cheaper :-)

Room Tip: I always demand non-smoking room.

Very convenient location both for the station and the town. The facilities are excellent for a 3 superior hotel. The rooms are quite small and simply furnished with a small balcony with a gorgeous view. Free wi-fi is another bonus.

Room Tip: Definitely worth upgrading to a Jungfrau room

This hotel is ok. Location is excellent, right next to the station but you don't hear any noise. Very close to the Gondola too. Good boot room and ski room. The breakfast was very good although they ran out of certain items on occasions. Avoid the attached Pasta restaurant. One of the worst meals I've ever had. The bar is ok but not well staffed. Often had to get a member of staff myself. The room was adequate but only a shower, no bath. However you just can't beat waking up with a south facing room. Simply the best view on the planet.
Skiing is really more about location and for that this hotel cannot be faulted. I stayed in a better hotel in lauterbrunnen earlier in the year but this location can't be beaten - except it is a fair trek to Murren if you want to ski the Schilthorn (which you must). I would probably return

In the otherwise pleasant "Pasta and More" restaurant we asked for a jug of tapwater with our (expensive) dinner and wine. We were charged CHF 5.50 !!!
Best to eat in one of the many other reasonable restaurants in the village.

Room Tip: we were not staying at hotel

Just spent a week at this hotel. Never gone to a hotel with a salt pool, sauna and steam room before but the facilities here were excellent. Anyone who has used the Romsey Rapids in Hants would enjoy this place as the pool had a multitude of spouts, jacuzzi, jets and push you round without swimming course.

The food was very good, rooms exceptionally clean, always tidied up, staff very helpful with most speaking very good english.

Our room was 305 with a south facing balcony so could see the mountains and the Lauberhorn downhill course.

Would recommend the hotel without hesitation.
Very close to the railway station -very quite

Room Tip: go for a south breath takingacing as the views are
