Having actually lived in Davos opposite the Cresta Sun for several years it was a natural choice for a family ski week. Buffet breakfast: great. Reception help: great. Restaurant: good. Parking: sometimes difficult and costs extra. Bar: nice. Location - Central between Jakobshorn (Davos Plat and Parsenn (Davos Dorf) with free and plentiful buses from outside the hotel. Nice views (for Davos) across the Golf Course area to Dischma. The staff are extremely good and the maid called us once we left to say my son had left his ipod in the room. They then sent it to us. Very honest and very nice.

Because they had run out of rooms we were put in one of their appartments. They are several 100m away from the hotel. You feel totally cut off - all the hotel conveniences (especially in common winter temparatures of -12C or so) are a way off and the appartments were noisy (right next to the railway) or very hot (underfloor heating poorly controlled) depending if you opend the windows or not. No maid unless you paid extra, and not real kitchen (just a hot plate). Either insist on a hotel room or go and rent a proper appartment for cheaper.

In conclusion, as a hotel a recommendation, good value for Davos, but steer clear of the appartments to avoid disappointment.

Room Tip: Do not go for the appartments. My ratings are for the appartments, not the rooms.

We found the staff to be very personable and friendly. The owners are a younger couple and have done a great job picking good people for the front desk and the restaurant. The small bar is cozy with the staff filling in as the bartender; so fancy drinks are out of the question.

Bad: Very poor breakfast. Poor poor dinner, not corresponding to a 4* hotel. Awful and not free, connection to internet.

Good: Friendly staff. Well communicated-

We went in december in this hotel. (3 rooms 8500 chf : 9000 $). At this price i could expect a good hotel.
First problem: the remote control was not working and i had to wait 1 day until they checked it.
Second: very small sauna
Third: the selection on food in the morning was pretty low.
Forth: the dinner room was like a 3* hotel.
Fifth: i had to pay 50 chf (55 $) for 4 days of WIFI and it was really slow (it was dificult to read the newspapers on the iphone)
And now to the positive:
First: pretty central, 3 min from the mainstreet.
Second: very clean and renovated bathrooms.
Third: food on the evening was pretty good and the young stuff was really friendly

Very comfortable and clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast with good selection of breads. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room or snack service and the location of the hotel meant that we had to walk quite a long way into the town centre to find any shops or cafes open. If I returned to Davos for a conference then I would choose a hotel the other side of the convention centre in the main town centre. Quite a lot of things seemed closed, probably because June is low season for a ski resort, and the weather was cold and wet - didn't see the tops of the mountains at all.
