“Great hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2014 via mobile

Very comfortable hotel 10 min walk from Davos Congress Center.
Nice room. Great breakfast with fresh juice. Great beds and pillows.
Fast wifi and nice ski box free of charge. The restaurant seems to be great as well but didn't have dinner there. Next to the parsenn ski station that is very handy!!

I've been staying at the Seehof at least once a year for around the last 10 years. From the days it was branded as a Sheraton to today. It only gets better and better in my opinion. It would get 5 stars without a doubt except for terrible service in the Chesa restaurant on my last night.

I've written a review here before but the new management have really made a difference and deserve a new review.

Check in was quick and efficient. My room was in the old part of the hotel so loads of character and facing the historic church. I knew from before that the bells chime 4 times an hour but this stops at night and was never a disturbance in the daytime. It only added to the atmosphere of the Seehof.

The Parsennbahn (main lift in Davos Platz) is right next door (1 minute walk) as are 2 or 3 ski shops to hire equipment. The free Davos bus stops outside the front door and Davos Dorf rail station is 2-3 minutes walk as are a number of supermarkets. All extremely convenient.

There is a pleasant, sunny terrace out front for lunch or drinks. From late afternoon there is live music and a great atmosphere in the lounge bar. They offer a free drink on the first night and hand around complimentary canapés. All very welcoming after a long journey or a tiring day on the slopes.

I've written separately about the Chesa restaurant which really let's down the Seehof terribly. Avoid! Breakfasts at the Seehof are however very good. Plenty of space at peak times and a well stocked hot and cold buffet.

Only disappointed that I didn't have chance to test the new spa. With the new owners' enthusiasm and attention to details I'm sure it will be first class.

I'll be back!

Room Tip: New wing for a balcony. Old wing for character. Rooms at the back can be dark.

Would give this hotel a 4.8/5 rating - catered to all our needs - great location right next to the Parsenn bahn - ski lift-and a ski-hire rental shop which is linked by a semi-covered walkway direct to the hotels basement and heated ski lockers. We only skied at Parsenn - although there are quite a few ski areas in Davos - the snow on parsenn always seems to be the best - well for our intermediate level - its about 2600m - with great snow and most of the runs open - the only bit we couldn't ski as not enough snow was below 600m and down into Klosters village itself but the long schiffer run was great. SO convenience great and location great. Food was lovely - we were on a half board package - breakfast, as well as hot food and cold cuts had a great selection of fresh fruit and yoghurt and complimentary prosecco. The evening meal was 4 courses - sometimes a little 5th one too - often very rich - lots of cream etc - my husband loved it but after a couple of nights I asked for a healthy alternative for myself and they very kindly obliged. Our room was lovely to the front on the 3rd floor with a great view over the street and the illuminated, coloured, christmas trees on the frozen wee pond. The bus stop is right outside hotel and runs every 10-15 mins - its only about 3-5 mins in the bus to Davos platz the main shopping area, the kongress centre and the public swimming pool. There is payable parking in the basement of the hotel accessed from the hotel lift and there is free parking across the street if you can find a space - you just display a parking pass from the hotel in your windscreen as otherwise you must buy a ticket and pay by the hour. The management has changed since we were there last and I have got to commend the staff 'this time' on their friendliness helpfulness and efficiency. They were really 5 star - from the new concierge to the reception staff and the lovely helpful waiters from Berlin! They don't have tea and coffee making facilities in the room however they do have some kettles which we knew about and I phoned in advance to request one for our room which was there for us on arrival. You also need special swiss adapter plugs different from our regular European adapter plugs but the hotel can lend you one while you are there. There is also a spa in the hotel now since we were last there but no swimming pool. Apart from the restaurant for half boarders there is also an a la carte restaurant and a very elegant restaurant which needs to be booked in advance. There's also a wee library, and a snug with open fire - its really such a lovely hotel and I look forward very much to staying here again - we both really enjoyed our stay and with such helpful smiling staff this time that was just the icing on the cake!

We stayed at this hotel over Christmas. We liked the location, as it was close to the ski lift and downtown. The breakfast was excellent. I much appreciated the self-serve cappucino machine and assortment of juices, along with the hot breakfast.

The staff were really helpful. The concierge explained the bus pass system. Also, each day there were some suggested activities or other tourist information which was quite helpful. The main restuarant had food which was tasty and reasonably priced (for Davos, anyway)

The hotel had a nice reading area and a computer in the library. The parkade was handy, though we did not use our vehicle once we arrived as the bus was excellent.

Room Tip: Our room had windows that opened out onto an alley, which meant we could not sleep with the window o...

Stayed at the Davos Seehof from Dec 19th to the 23rd 2013 and it was simply a dream break. We travelled from Zurich airport on the train which was a stunning and beautiful journey through the Swiss Alps. The hotel is only 100m from the station which was great, and in addition the hill train to the Persenn ski area is only a stones throw from the hotel as well. The breakfast buffet was simply gorgeous with fresh fruit, fish and meats everyday. We even had popped open free bottles of Presecco every day with our breakfast which was great start to the skiing !!. With our stay, as our wives were beginners and the snow quite firm, they were happy to spend all day looking round the shops and enjoying the beautiful spa in the hotel and then joined us at the top of the mountain for a glass of hot Glühwein and as you will know simply stunning views. At the end of our day on the slopes we all piled into the spa - the hut tub was great for all our aches and pains and the girls both fell asleep in the chill out room ! It is a perfect hotel in an even more perfect location - would highly recommend.

Room Tip: You will not be disappointed with any room in the hotel, although we had rooms at the front overlook...

The outdoors of Seehof restaurants is the perfect break to take in some sun, nice food and drinks after having taken the piste down from Parsenn to Davos Dorf. Good and friendly staff, providing excellent service in a well situated place worthwhile multiple visits!

Located in the heart of Davos, just next to the Parsenn-Bahn Station, so ideal location for skiing. Directly on the main road, so for people used to sleep with open windows it could be a bit loud due to the traffic.

I stayed in a so called Arvenholz-Room: large room (actually Junior Suite size), very nice furniture, allover decorated in wood. Good: Minibar included with Non-Alcoholic Drinks. Small balcony with nice view, but directly facing the main street.

Great Service: starting at the arrival (very fast and efficient check in, very friendly, also Concierge very helpful and professional). During whole stay the staff was always very friendly. Also in the Chesa Seeehof (cheap Restaurant witht local specialities for lunch) very friendly and professional staff.

Food: Chesa Seehof good Quality of Food (I personally can recommend the Capuns, a local speciality). Also at breakfast very good choice and Quality good.

Conclusion: excellent 4-star Hotel, can be recommended.
