I made the reservation inquiry by e-mail for Valentine's day before we left for Saint Moritz, got an answer immediately, very helpful and very polite, no problems. When we arrived, we received a warm welcome with genuine smiles, and the atmosphere was nice, clean and cosy. The tables upstairs are lovely, but downstairs is ok, too.
However, the food... I expect more when I see the Michelin star. Except the little soup at the start, there was nothing memorable about the food -in fact, it was quite average. We tried the duck, the fish and the Wagyubeef. Duck was the worst -rather dry and tasteless, beef was the only ok alternative. Our waitress had probably just started working there, so although she was really nice and polite, she simply did not have enough information regarding the menu. Wine-wise, we had the same problem: not enough information, and no interesting food-wine combination alternatives.
Had we enjoyed the food, I would have refrained from making cost-related comments. However, this time, it is imperative to state that for that kind of food, Talvo is sadly over-priced.
To summarize it all: positive attitude, nice atmosphere, average food, therefore overpriced.
