This gem of a hotel has created a warm environment for travellers. I heard about it from a ski instructor at the Badrudt Palace Hotel, and it was featured in a NY Times travel article. It was even better than I expected.
Totally redone, it is an immaculate, brand-new seeming hotel. I have never stayed at a cleaner hotel, even brand new construction, and I even spotted a housekeeper climbing up on a table to dust and clean every nook and cranny. The bathroom is cleaner than some hospital operating rooms. The personal hospitality of the owners/proprietors is unmatched. The breakfast is great, and their advice on local restaurants and ski shops is reliable. Your pleasant stay is their total commitment.
Although not right on the slope (almost nothing is in St. Moritz) there is a ski shop 100 yards from the Funicular Train station to the ski area, and that is a couple of easy blocks away. Renting and/or storing and tuning skis there makes it much easier than you would expect to have a village experience and a ski resort experience at the same time.
There are numerous, great restaurants within easy walking distance. And, you can stop by the five star hotels for a drink in their lobby or a meal in their restaurants if see and be seen is your goal (apparently a big sport in St. Moritz).
