Helpful, friendly staff right outside the Zermatt Bahnhof (train station to Taesch parking garage as well as to the rest of Switzerland).

Stop in and ask for the free Zermatt map - very well done and a must even for just walking the town!

Situated at the Bahnhof . You can't miss it. Where other Office du tourists often fail to have qualified staff. In this case not. The staff know there business

One of the best things about this charming Alpine location is the total absence of cars from the Main Street. The train line also ends here, making it feel just that bit more isolated and special. They do however have electric taxi carts so you do have to keep eyes and ears (they’re very quiet) open. Having subsequently read up about the history of this, and seeing how they have so successfully resisted the ubiquitous motor car, I really hope they continue their policy but the total of 500? taxis and possible increased numbers to pander to additional hotel demands is worrying for the locals.

Hopefully Zermatt remains a successful pedestrian enclave because it is an absolutely brilliant place to visit.

It really does depend who is at the desk in this place for your level of help.
When I arrived in Zermatt last month the lady Silvie could not have been more helpful. She found for me and booked a very good hotel for a discounted price.
She was most friendly, informative and helpful.
However,
Today, Tuesday, I have just visited to ask for information about an upcoming event.
Trying to extract information was like trying to extract teeth from this particular girl!
The only information she told me was the date it was on.
I was obliged to ask questions to find out anything else including admission costs.
She knew the information, but had to be asked direct questions before she would dispense it.
Some training is clearly required,,
or a transfer to Basel Tourimus where this indiffernt attitude is standard practice!

This is a place to visit in case one needs help. We were there couple times, the staff was always incredibly helpful and friendly, spoke English very well and answered all our questions.Tickets are available there as well. Sometimes there are queues but I think this is expected in such a popular tourist place.

There are always enough employees so that we can serve our customers at two counters. This was probably in connection with a shift change. We would like to apologize for the circumstances.

The staff is always ready to provide us with all information that we needed.

We had seen how patience they were dealing with a Japanese tourist who was not really good to converse in the English language. Most of the time he will speak in the Japanese language. The staff was always smiling and really tried their best to help.

The staff was not able to tell me, if I were to call for a taxi, would I have to pay extra (booking fee).

Wanted to buy a Peak Pass. Already checked online and was expecting to pay CHF xxx. But was quoted a cheaper price and when I asked why, was told "well it is cheaper, maybe because not all lifts are open, anyway cheaper is good" . But when I insisted that she checked, then she realised she ordered a wrong pass.
