The fact that the change of owner is not advertised clearly accounts for a lot of praise for the new owners which is absolutely undue. We knew that the previous owner had left but booked a table for four in March 2014 anyway. To start with the new owners had our reservation under another name (and it is not a complicated name!). Once the booking and our table was found we were presented with a blackboard with the dinner menu. The selection was very limited indeed: one first course, one salad, one main course with two options at extra cost and one dessert. The food was ok-ish but the service was despicable, upturned empty bottle in the ice bucket and all. The new owner’s motto is “eat as you would eat at home” and everything is served in bowls and on platters. While I do not mind this I mind it very much that we were not given fresh cutlery after the starter but were asked in no uncertain terms to use it again for the main course. Luckily we skipped dessert or we might have been asked to re-use the cutlery for that too. We eat with more style at home and we definitely do not use the same cutlery for the first course and the main course. So the next time we feel like eating as we would eat at home we shall stay home.
