“Outstanding service!”
Reviewed 19 July 2012

Staying in this hotel was a brilliant experience, not only is it contemporary and stylish but it also has the most amazing views and staff are outstanding.
We stayed at the hotel at the beginning of July and it was our first trip to Zermatt so to be met at the hotel by an electric buggy was part of the magical experience. The interaction with the hotel was excellent even before we arrived and we had the feeling that they were welcoming friends and not just guests. When we checked in, the staff made it a relaxed experience over a glass of wine. The rooms are split over a number of separate chalets, each chalet having its own hot tub and sauna area (watch the step into the room!). The hotel upgraded us to a junior suite which was very large with a separate sitting room and huge balcony and was clean and modern, whilst it did not have a view of the Matterhorn it was still a beautiful view over Zermatt and surrounding mountains.
The hotel is slightly out of the town up a hill so very peaceful and you can get down the hill by a lift, and perfect location to take the train or the cable car. If you go in the winter you can ski to the front of the hotel! The evening meals and breakfast were excellent, good choice and fantastic service. What makes this hotel so special is the staff who are efficient and friendly, they genuinely want you to have a great stay with them and so are on hand to over advice on walks and trips whenever you need it. The owners of the hotel have this just right and we will certainly return.

Room Tip: Junior suite is large with great views but not of the Matterhorn.

This is a FANTASTIC hotel. We absolutely loved our stay at the Cervo and were constantly amazed by how much they go the extra mile for their guests. When we first arrived, Daniel and Julia sat us down to go through the options for hiking and made recommendations on how we should spend out time at Zermatt. We followed his recommedations and were thrilled we did- we LOVED Zermatt and probably never would have had that experience if it wasn't for Daniel.

The Cervo offers a delicious breakfast each morning and you can sit outside on the patio starting at the Matterhorn during it- AMAZING. If you forego the breakfast, they will make you a delicious packed lunch for your hike that day with a sandwich, water, fruit and chocolate!

The hotel room was fantastic as well and all the balcony's stare out at the Matterhorn. The Cervo has 33 rooms between 5 challets and they are in the process of building one more. Each chalet offers a wellness center with a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, relaxing area overlooking a fire place and outside chairs facing the Matterhorn.

This is the most relaxing, wonderful experiences that I've had traveling and I would HIGHLY recommend the Cervo.

Room Tip: they are all amazing rooms!

We had a four night stay at Cervo at the end of June and had a wonderful time. The location of the hotel, up the hill away from the touristy centre of Zermatt, means that it is really peaceful (but with easy lift access to the town). Having the rooms over a number of separate chalets rather than one big hotel building also helps to make it feel peaceful. The room was stylish, clean and well-equipped with stunning views of the Matterhorn from the balcony. One of the best things about the hotel was the staff who, without exception, were friendly, helpful and efficient and made us feel very welcome. From the chilled glass of local white on arrival, to advice on local walks, the customer service was excellent. The hotel manages to offer a very high standard of service and quality without being stuffy. We had two evening meals in the restaurant which were excellent with plenty of choice on the menu. The breakfast buffet was also very good, whether you want to stoke up for a big hike or just eat a fresh buttery croissant!

If you're looking for a 5 star mountain experience with warm hospitality, stylish contemporary mountain athmosphere, incredible views of the Matterhorn and a restaurant that makes you come back every night...the CERVO is your spot. My girlfriend and I spent 5 days at the Cervo in Zermatt and left extremely relaxed with ambitions to come back as soon as possible. We loved the incredible views of the Matterhorn from our room, from the personnal SPA in our chalet and from the restaurant terrace where we drank wine every night until the Matterhorn dissapeared into the night. Daniel and Sereina treat their guests like friends and family and we felt the same way about all their employees. If you want to know just about anything in Zermatt, make sure you talk to Ali at breakfast. Ali is an incredible ambassador of his mountain village and every morning would give us great insight on places to hike, eat, drink and visit while preparing our coffee and inviting us to enjoy a wonderful authentic Swiss breakfast.

We've now been back to the real word for about a week and we just keep looking at our photos wishing we could be back at the CERVO.

I have had the chance to travel the world and stay in very nice hotels around the world, trust me...the CERVO is a very unique place.

Room Tip: We were in Chalet 1 and the view from our room was simply amazing.

My wife and I spent a short weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) here at the end of June. We were really impressed and have added it to our list of favourite hotels - great room overlooking the Matterhorn mountain with stylish luxury (Loewe tv, nice products, eames desk chairs etc), very friendly staff (all speaking English), a nice terrace bar, simple and tasty breakfast included, and a great innovative restaurant.

The hotel is not in the town centre but is easily accessed from a lift inside the mountain which takes you to the front door of the hotel - and being outside town meant great views and easy access to the mountain for outdoor activities (equally good in summer as winter).

There is a sauna/steam room in each building which was nice enough - perhaps more on the stylish side than genuinely relaxing but worth a visit after a hard day in the mountains.

Overall very little to fault and we would return in a flash...

Right from the moment we reached Zermatt by train, it was a warm welcome by Bruno who was always smiling. He took us to the elevator in an electric car. It was like a fairy tale entrance through the chilled tunnel. The reception was was very polite and some reservation hassles were very amicably sorted out by the owner Daniel.
Everything, the location, the room, view, food, service were excellent. The staff was all very helpful.
What made the place feel like home was Daniel, who somehow seemed to be everywhere at the same time, making every guest comfortable and feel like a house guest.
Truly the best part and hotel of our Swiss trip.
Would definitely love to make it to the Cervo once again
