Located 2 minutes away from the rail station, right downtown. Room has a good size, comfortable, very clean; nice modern bathroom. Breakfast was very good. TV has English channels, WI-FI excellent and easy to use. They offer free luggage hold if you leave later than check out time. I would definitely go back...

In our travel through Switzerland, Hotel Simi's rooms were by far the biggest and coziest. Completely done up in wood, it adds the authentic touch without going over the top. That combined with big bathrooms, with steaming hot water, it was idyllic. Having gone in summer, probably because the rooms were of wood, we found the rooms a bit stuffy, especially in the afternoons, but nothing an open window couldn't solve. There are also attached balconies, which do not offer much in terms of a view.

In terms of distance, Simi is about a 10 minute walk from the station, but they do have a battery powered car for pick ups and drops, which is useful when you have heavy baggage.
The hotel itself is off the main road of Zermatt, making it very comfortable to walk everywhere within the center of the town. With a bustling road, filled with shops and eateries, we were spoiled for choice on where to go.

The basement boasts of a Sauna, Steam, even a hot water Jacuzzi, which looked like they'd be worth the effort. The restaurant is worm and cozy, with an option to sit in the open as well. We only tried the breakfast, and it was good, with a wide variety of cheese. Unfortunately, the restaurant is open only for breakfast, but there are many restaurants and cafes close by.

Noteworthy is how pet friendly the hotel is- right outside the entrance to the hotel is a water bowl for dogs- a very thoughtful gesture on behalf of the owners.

Room Tip: The rooms in the main hotel building seem a lot better than then annex building next to the hotel- a...

The hotel is a great one. The view from the room is amazing. The room itself was superb with all the amenities necessary. Though the breakfast is not so good for vegetarians, there are a lot of restaurants nearby where one can get good veg food. The staff is also very helpful. The hotel is close to the railway station and hence it is very easy to reach. thank you

Everything about this hotel was superb, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were made to feel like family. The room was clean, comfortable and huge, the breakfast is great too and the bar and entrance are really cosy and beautiful. The hotel is perfectly located and the staff were superb. But the real story is the hotel owners Nadja and Arno that genuinely cares about ensuring that you have a great stay, very loving and very warm…Like a family. The best owners I’ve come across.Cheers….

I have stayed at Hotel Simi this February with my family for a ski vacation. We had rooms at the top floor, they were perfect. Clean, soft beds, wondeful of the mountains. The breakfast was outstanding, with everything you can wish for. The employees are super friendly and are more than willing to help you. The last day we had to get to the train station very early (the station is very near) but it had snowed all night and we had 7 suitcases, so they ordered a taxi for us.
The bartender lady was very friendly and made delicious drinks. You will enjoy your time here.

I'm a regular guest at hotel Simi for more than ten years. And there are many reasons why: Firstly the hotel is run by the owners Nadja and Arno and their team. They care a lot for their guests and they always make me feel like coming home!
Secondly the hotel is located in a side street of the main street, right at the center of Zermatt. So shopping, restaurants and nightlife are just around the corner.
Thirdly the rooms are nice, spacious and quiet (advantage of being in a side street!) and most of them have been renewed recently. Alltogether reasonably priced.
Last but not least a skier needs a rich breakfast for a good day of skiing. And what me and my friends like he most: it is served till 11am (we tend to get to bed late night, sometimes...).
Sunnegga funicular is a 10 minutes walk away, Gornergrat railway is 5 minutes away and for Matterhorn Express we usually take an electro cab. If you have any questions about the resort: don't hesitate to ask the receptionists! They all are ski teachers and mountain guides and they gladly share their knowledge with you (do not forget to ask about good mountain restaurants if you are new to Zermatt). Btw: The ski room is fitted with lockers for every room and heating for the boots.
If you are into large spas, then maybe Simi is not the right hotel for you: they have a nice sauna, a steam bath, a jacuzzi and a small fitness room. Which is absolutely fine for us.
Me and my friends are already looking forward to next winter. Or maybe we go there in fall for hiking and biking :-)

Room Tip: Rooms on the front side are sunnier and quieter.

Hotel Simi is an exceptionally comfortable ski hotel. The staff were welcoming and the rooms are spacious and have welcoming fruit and wine in them. We organised our own transport flying to Geneva from Gatwick and then catching the train to Zermatt. this proved a really pleasant and efficient means of journeying and we especially enjoyed the relaxed train journey and the mountain views it afforded.
Breakfasts were well organised and catered for a variety of tastes and diets. The bar was welcoming and everywhere was clean and orderly.
Skiing around Zermatt is excellent with a variety of runs including some challenging ones . We skied into Italy for the day and I would recommend this trip as it includes one exceptionally long blue run down to the Italian town .
We really enjoyed exploring Zermatt which picturesque although not cheap. We also discovered the fascinating English church in the centre which is imbued with mountaineering history. After enquiring around it became evident that Simi is excellent value, given its high levels of comfort.
We shall definitely be returning there next year.
