Although based on booking.com website only a one star hotel, it is certainly better than many three star hotels and for switserland very affordable. My room was a large single room with a balcony. Bathroom (shower/toilet) was shared. (one bathroom for 4 rooms). Room was very clean with everything needed : TV, good bed, free wifi and even a chocolate on arrival. Also the breakfast was perfect. Be careful however as the hotel seems not to have any elevator and the stair to reach reception area and rooms are relatively small and steep.

When I daydream about my prior travels the Hotel Weisshorn will always hold a very special place in my heart. My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon and it was quite special to be so close to the Matterhorn. Our room was rustic but cozy and it felt like we were living in a fairy tell. The staff welcomed us and were very pleasant and accommodating. Zermatt is such a magically, sweet town that it was so wonderful to stay in a place that also tied in the relax cultured feel that a small town brings. Hotel Weisshorn had a lovely spread for breakfast too which was so convenient in the morning before our long day hikes. Overall I will be definitely recommending this place to friends and hope to return here during the winter so I can experience Zermatt in the snow as well!

this splace is great if you're looking for a practical, reasonably priced place to stay. the hotel and the rooms are clean and it's in a good location. the breakfast is varied. however, if you're looking for a quiet, discreet place to get away from the city buzz, this is definitely the wrong place to come to.the staff bother you during breakfast with check-in/out details and ask you to go get your passport just so they can sit down and have breakfast themselves rather than wait until you're actually ready to check out. also, don't try to nap after breakfast because the cleaning will have started by then. even if the loud vacuum cleaning noises let you doze off for a while, it won't be long before the staff dash into your room, mistakenly wanting to clean it too. even if you're the only remaining guest, they wouldn't know yo're still here, half an hour before official check-out time. next time i'd rather spend a bit more money and have a bit more peace and quiet instead.

Great value for a stay in Zermatt! This was our last stop on the Walkers' Haute Route - after 2 weeks it was amazing to finally see the Matterhorn and we had an awesome view of it right from our balcony! The breakfast here was great, lots to choose from and excellent service of coffee and tea. The location was also great for eating and shopping. The rooms were dated but had tv and wifi.

We've stayed here twice now and it's great. Rooms are spacious and well heated. You get a huge buffet breakfast and there are storage facilities for ski and snowboard equipment. The staff are very helpful and told us of places where we could get a 10% discount on ski hire equipment. The only downside was a tall thin radiator which meant it took longer to dry off ski clothing. N.B. If your beds are raised at the head end and you find that affects your sleep, lift the mattress and lower the base. They're self adjustable. Took us a while to figure that out.
Apart from the price, the best thing is that it's only a 5-10 minute walk from the station and handy for the chair lifts. We'll definitely stay again.

The hotel is quite close to the train station and quite close to restaurants and cafes. The rooms are quite spacious and the bathroom though shared was impeccably clean and fairly big. Our host was very friendly and accommodating given the fact that she gave us keys to the dining room and set a table for us as we had to leave early the following morning before the usual breakfast time. Given the price they charge for the rooms, Weisshorn is a real steal!

First off Hotel Weisshorn is in a great location. It is located right in town, only maybe a 5 minute walk from the train station and 5 minutes from the ski gondola. Our room was on the third floor, with no elevator. This was no issue for us, each with about 25 lb. backpacks, but may be an issue for someone with mobility issues. Our room had everything we needed with a sink, cups, a small armoir for luggage, a heater, a small tv, and 2 twin beds pushed together. The beds were actually quite comfortable. There was a shared toilet and shower. We were there during a slow time and had no issues with this, however the floor seems to accommodate about 8 people, so when full it may be a bit busy.
The breakfast was really good, especially if you plan to go out skiing or hiking for the day. There were buns, sliced bread with a number of jams, Nutella, and butter for spreading, cheese and meat (about 3 choices of each), hard boiled eggs, cereal (I would guess 6 choices), yogurt, fruit cocktail, some kind of oatmeal/porridge looking stuff, 2 types of juices, hot chocolate and coffee. The woman working in the breakfast area was also very pleasant, as was everyone we encountered working at Hotel Weisshorn.
Overall, for 2 backpackers this was perfect. It has a lot of character and is cozy. However, If you require and en suite bathroom or elevator it may not be the best option.
