A short walk from the train station, manageable even with a heavily laden bag of ski gear in tow, the hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Zermatt. Upon arriving the exceptionally friendly and helpful multi-lingual staff escorted me to my room while expounding all that Zermatt has to offer. The floor to ceiling wood paneling of the room gave the sense of being warmly nestled within a cozy cabin - a cabin with a large flat screen TV, CD/speaker system with ipod connection, ample sized wardrobe, small desk, and free wi-fi. The room’s modern finishing spillover into the clean and stylish bathroom which offers a heated floor and shower, no bath. Tucked behind the room darkening double curtains are the full length windows and door opening onto the spacious porch – one can imagine enjoying their morning coffee on a summer’s day here, however in December the extent of my time spent here was the 17 seconds it took for me to capture a photo of the view. Unfortunately without the Matterhorn in the background, but nonetheless the surrounding mountain scenery primes you well for the view on the other side of the hotel. Start your morning’s right with the complimentary breakfast that has plenty of options, whether seeking something light or a more hearty feed. There are many ski rental outfits in town, but 'Stoked' is located only steps opposite the entrance to the hotel. Any rented gear can be stored in the hotel's equipment room located in the lower level. The lifts are all walkable in ski boots, but Gornergrat (5 mins) and Sunnegga (10 mins) much more so than the gondola to Furi (15 mins). Sunnegga and Furi offer small storage lockers, Gornergrat however might find you stashing your trainers in the snow. After a day on the slopes the hotel spa offers a great way to relax - the hot tub is large and vigorous, but don't plan on having a chat if the jets are running. The night can easily be topped off in one of the hotel’s 5 happening bars/clubs – I only made it to the Brown Cow pub which provided a fun and laid back après vibe. Without a doubt I’d come back; I’ve got 4 more bars to try!

Room Tip: The clubs were not in full swing when I was there, but I imagine the higher room the better to avoid...

I almost don't want to tell everyone how amazing this hotel is so they don't raise the rates, but here goes. Very nice hotel, clean, great location, breakfast and Internet included in room rate, two good restaurants in the hotel and a couple of bars.

The room was beautiful - two balconies with great views, shower/bath tub, beautiful wood walls and stone floor, comfy beds with big down comforters, very quiet. There's a Tex Mex restaurant and an Italian restaurant in the hotel and they're both good. Every time I go to Zermatt, this is where I'll be staying.

Fabulous hotel, we were upgraded to a suite because it was very low season - wonderfully romantic!. Arrived in rain and woke with snow. Unfortunately the Matterhorn was obscured however we enjoyed the fabulous room with split-level, the open fire and the overall decor is fabulous. Tasteful designer and authentic Swiss style. We enjoyed a wonderful pizza one of the restaurants and took a big breathe when the bill arrived - but that's Switzerland for you. Would go there again, loved the hotel, located on the main street , staff were helpful and friendly.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Post with my husband and we truly loved the hotel. To start it has an ideal location, situated right in the middle of town. We walked to the hotel from the train station and it took us just two minutes. Our room was great as well. It had a very modern, yet rustic flair to it. We had two balconies off our room; one which provided a perfect view of the Matterhorn and the other faced into town. Although we didn't require much assistance from the staff, they were very pleasant and friendly. The included breakfast was very nice as well; fruits, yogurts, meats, and eggs cooked to your liking. The spa area is small, but still quite nice with a steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi. We stayed in off season and really liked it, but would imagine this is "the hotel" to stay at during peak season as it has numerous restaurants and bars. Btw...we had great burgers for lunch at the Brown Cow Pub located in the hotel!

Contemporary decor and great location- the rooms are very small but we did have a view of the matterhorn if we won't out on our balcony. It king bed room was 260.00 francs so not inexpensive but they were very nice and helpful there. The chimes in town ring all night long so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view of the Matterhorn otherwise you overlook peoples laundry hanging on their w...

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in late September.

We loved everything about this hotel... the great location in the heart of Zermatt (perfect especially when arriving late at night and/or leaving early in the morning... only a few minutes' walk from the train station!), cozy, immaculate, lodge-style rooms (with an amazing shower to boot!), friendly and helpful staff, and quite a tasty breakfast! And all at an affordable price.

We also had an AMAZING Matterhorn view (for the short time it showed itself in late September, anyway!) - I don't think we would have had this during high season since we booked the least expensive room - they probably gave it to us just because it was available. We were thrilled with it nonetheless! And would probably pay extra for it if we were to go back during high season.

We had no issues with noise, although, again, we were there during low season, so can't comment on the high season.

We were too exhausted to try out the bars at night, but I've heard they are a hit!

And if none of the above is enough to get you to stay there, just know that David Bowie once stayed there. That makes it pretty sweet in my book! :)

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room with a view of the Matterhorn! Worth it!
