Owner description: The sunny corner of Zermatt From the train station you will reach the Sunnegga-Rothornvalley station by foot in five minutes. Taking the undergroundn funicular you will ascend to 2,288 metres (7,506 ft) in just four and a half minutes and arrive at Sunnegga, the “sunny corner” of Zermatt. From the spacious sun terrace of the restaurant, you enjoy a wonderful view of the Matterhorn. Wolli playground Leisee At Leisee lake, families can enjoy an adventure playground with attractive barbecue areas and a water feature. Your children can explore the play area while you relax in the idyllic lakeside surroundings and contemplate the amazing views of the Matterhorn. Take a refreshing dip in the lake, or play Robinson Crusoe as you cross the water on a wooden raft attached to a cable that spans the lake. Off to the land of adventure! Kickbiking on Sunnegga The extremely popular kickbikes can be hired at the SunneggaRothorn valley station (helmet included). From there it’s a thrill a minute as you speed downhill to Tuftern and on to Zermatt. There are various restaurants along the way where you can stop for a breather before continuing back to the valley station to return your kickbikes.

blue slopes and also red up at rothorn. This is ideal to find your ski legs again. A gondola ride up takes a few mins (inside a tunel) and you are out at the restaurant with amazing matterhorn views. Bunny slope here too. There is a 6 chair skilift or gondola to go up to blauherd. THis is good if ou are hitting the slopes for the first time and haven't used a chair lift before. Then there is a gondola to continue up to rothorn with many routes available

“Very nice conditions..”
Reviewed 22 February 2012

We did "Telemark" and the pistes are very nice for beginner and midium skiers..
But we had a very negative experience on our first day. We rented boots, and had some problems with the feets after the first run, so we stopped at the bar / restaurant "Tuftern" just to fix the problem (and it really hurt).. After 2 mins we were told by the manager / owner / "who ever" working there that we had to pay 10 CHF to sit there...
Where did the hospitality and friendlines go ?
We were just chocked so we just got the boots on as quick as possible...
This was our ONLY negative experience in Zermatt. All good, except "Tuftern"...

“great view!”
Reviewed 15 February 2012

Very easy to get to by one of the 3 main lifts. The view form that point it's wonderful, words are not enough to describe it.You can relax at Sunnegga terrace and still watch the view of Matterhorn and other mountain views. You don't have to stay at lines, buying tickets and going up it's very fast. The ticket's price is reasonable (24 CHF/pers/ for up and down).
Recommend it!

“Begginners”
Reviewed 25 January 2012

If you want to learn ski, the best place for childrens and begginners. A good restaurant and many options for skiing.
Make a reservation in a ski school at the city, and they will teach you there

“A challenging run with good rewards!”
Reviewed 24 January 2012

This mountain really does deliver it all. High peaks with fast sweeping motorways or interesting tracks for those who enjoy the excitement and challenge of a journey. Take a track down Cumme to Patralarve for a memorable run. Use Gant for another great trip down. This will take you to hochtali cable car and one of my personal favourites at the top. Take care it is a little narrow and steep at the top. For those wanting sustenance take a ski down to Findeln where you will have a great choice of eateries including what we call "The Chicken Shack" great food and an even better view. It is not called that but hey barbecue chickens outside! Liked everything about this area but then you can't beat Zermatt
