Our room was on second top floor and in typical Swiss style, the roof of the hotel was quite sloping which made the interior of our end room a little awkward. Bedding consisted of two king singles pushed together to make one large bed - quite comfortable though. The bathroom was sparse, with an old-fashioned shower curtain.
On the plus side, our balcony opened up to a magnificent view of the Matterhorn. The breakfast room also had a beautiful view of the Matterhorn, but the food was quite limited.
The hotel was situated 10 minutes walk from the station (a very pleasant walk) or you can opt for an electric taxi, as there are no motorised vehicles in Zermatt - a truly beautiful little town.
You should also include the Gornegrat rack railway trip up to the Matterhorn. The station for this is situated in the main square.More
