“Phenomenal Experience!”
Reviewed 25 June 2013

Our family of four stayed at the Hotel Daniela two weeks ago. We all loved it, including our teens. It exceeded our expectations! The hotel staff was exceptionally cheerful and happy to be of service. The hotel itself is spotless and exudes charm and warmth. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment with a kitchen, living room, shared bath and balcony. Every inch is so well thought out that we wished we lived there...especially with the view.

We ate breakfast there each morning and loved the wide variety to choose from: breads, pastries, yogurts, meats, cheeses, hardboiled eggs and fresh-squeezed orange juice. The coffee and hot chocolate were great too!

The only down side to staying here is that it is on a "busy" main street. "Busy" and "main" being a relative term. Remember that this is a small town and the cars are really jazzed up golf carts. Still. There is a lot of traffic noise as well as construction crews banging around. No sleeping in with your windows open! To be honest, we were so happy there that this did not matter that much to us.

We went over to their sister property, the Julen, and had dinner as well as enjoyed the indoor pool. The spa looked fantastic, although we did not use it. Folks, it doesn't get any better than this! In all our travels in Switzerland, this was by far our favorite place!

Room Tip: We were on the top floor in an apartment. Wonderful!!!!

Quiet hotel away from the main streets but close by. Helpful and friendly staff, many breakfast items, spacious rooms, and the half board option was a good deal in expensive Zermatt. Will return again.

We love our stay at the hotel Daniela and would definitely suggest staying here. We had a beautiful view of the Matterhorn from our private balcony and our room was spacious and clean. All of the staff were extremely friendly and eager to help with our bags or any questions we had about the area. Breakfast was a huge spread of delicious food and coffee. Getting here was an easy walk from the train station and they also have an electric taxi that can get you to and from the hotel. We also visited pool and spa area and found it to be clean and relaxing. We went to the restaurant as well and had a fantastic meal with wonderful service. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Request a mountain view.

Out of all the hotels we stayed in Switzerland, this one is our favorite. Here's detail review.

Distance From station : Its about 15 mins walk from main station. So not exactly near to station. But they do provide complimentary station pick up & drop off.

Hotel : It's a nice small hotel. We went in off-season where almost entire Zermatt town was in vacation mode. Many top rated hotels were closed. So we had to select only few of opened hotels. So glad we selected this one.

Rooms : We were surprised by facilities & amenities that we couldn't find even in top hotels of other locations. Secured main entrance, automatic lights, good list of English channels, big closets, nice bath with life-size mirrors, big patio with Matterhorn view, more than typical complimentary breakfast (soups, many varieties of sweets, bread, jams & fruits, and to top it, a lovely attentive waiter). It was simply unbelievable experience.

Reception : Very helpful. Though I didn't like constant advertisement of their restaurant few blocks away.

Although in TripAdvisor/Expedia ranking list, this hotel didn't cut to top 5. But I was very pleased with this hotel and highly recommend staying.

The cute little cozy hotel is located a 15mins away from the station.
Staff is friendly but English is a bit problem.
Room is toooo cute with a balcony to view picturesque mountains. To have that view you need to be lucky for the climate to be perfect.
It’s a good place to relax, quite surrondings.
Breakfast is good can’t complain :)

We stayed at this hotel for two nights waiting for the weather to clear to head up the mountains and had a great time. The room was terrific with a view of the Matterhorn from the balcony and we were impressed with the breakfast. The lady at the font desk (I never got her name) was amazing in the way she helped us out with bookings/advice etc and just being a smiling face.

Bear in mind that this is a sister hotel to the hotel romantik just down the street so the restaurant and pool/spa etc is located at the other hotel. We had dinner at the restaurant and ended up going there both nights because it was delicious (get the lamb!). We didn't find it a big inconvenience but if it was freezing outside things might be different I suppose!

Only negative was the heating, it was turned up so high that we had to have the window open to sleep comfortably, and there didn't seem to be anything we could do to turn the heat down.

Also note that the hotel runs a shuttle service from the train station, we just waited in the main square adjacent to the station and waited for the van there. From what I can work out he arrives after every train but I could be mistaken.

We had a couple of nights in Zermatt just after the main season was closed. A number of Hotels were closed but on reading previous reviews decided to go Daniella. For both price and quality we were very happy. It is beautifully decorated through out the hotel. Our room was spacious and we had a balcony, which when the weather cleared, views of the Matterhorn would be possible. It teased us the whole time we were there. The beds were very comfortable. The only thing we noticed is that when the room was shut up it was very warm and with heavy doonas and no top sheet it was difficult to stay comfortable at night. That was our only gripe, we loved our stay at Hotel Daniela.
