Lovely hotel the food was excellent the spa was very good very welcoming hosts and kept us in the picture when the avalanche happened and told us that every thing would be OK. We have skied many times but this was the first time to Switzerland, it lived up to our expectations, shame we could only ski for 3 days out of the 7 but we were warm and well fed what more could you ask for in terrible conditions. We would love to stay at Hotel Silvana again but Switzerland is very expensive (as we knew) so may be in a few years time.
I would recommend this hotel to all, it is lovely and because it is not in the centre of Zermatt it felt even more special.

Room Tip: All rooms would be good and probably have a good view of the mountains

We visited Silvana for skiing in week 5 and was very, very satisfied. This family run pearl has all you need plus a friendly atmosphere. While situated above town with last ride up at 17.15, then it has what the other hotels are missing, ski-in/ski-out and genuine mountainfeeling. The young ones may feels short of a disco up here, but everybody else wont! Should you desire a night out in town, it just takes a taxi back; just like home. The hotel has a great kitchen and very kind staff. We will definitely come back, maybe already this summer.

We booked through deindeal.ch and weren't really sure what to expect. Well, we were thrilled with everything. The place is lovely, really away from the crowds of tourists in zermatt and with stunning views. The room was great, nice and spacious with really comfy beds. The spa facilities were very welcome after a days hiking although the pool and spa seemed a bit cool one of the days we were there, still nice though. The food was where this hotel really excelled though - it was a set 4 course meal each night but each one was delicious, as were the breakfasts and lunch. The staff were friendly, everything was reasonably priced given it was such good quality and was an absolute bargain with the deindeal offer. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely like to go back.

We were part of a hiking group and we all stayed in this hotel. We stayed in the hotel for about 7 days. The hotel owners and staffs are really friendly and helpful. We felt like we are part of the family.

The location of hotel is in Furi which is the first stop for the Gondola ride from Zermatt. Because Furi is up in the mountain away from Zermatt. The hotel is also quite quiet. There are couple hiking trails around the hotel or you can take the Gondola to Zermatt or up in the mountain for other hiking trails.

The dinner @ the restaurant there are also fantastic. We enjoyed the raclette very much.

now travelling alone I have found "single" accommodation to be generally poor and overpriced but the Silvana was neither. Excellent room with sunny balcony. Although the only British guest staying at the time, had no language difficulties and both the owners and staff were very friendly. Food was of a high standard off an albeit limited menu and I had a decently located table rather than stuck behind a door as is usual for a solo diner.
The location, just outside Zermatt, is good for the cable cars and walks. Danny the owner, is a qualified Guide and is free with his advice on climbs and weather. Much apreciated.

Stayed here as part of a small group hiking tour. The location is incredible, as it's very convenient to many hiking trails, and its out-of-town location means it's very quiet. It's surrounded only by a few other chalets and fields of wildflowers. The food is quite tasty, with generous portions, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The whirlpool spa and sauna/steamroom are great after a day of hiking. If you are seeking a quiet, relaxing place, this is great! However, if you want to be close to lots of restaurants and other typical tourist activities, this may not be your cup of tea, as Zermatt itself is reached by a five-minute cable car ride which closes at about 6PM.

Stayed in hotel during summer with 2 kids. Overall this hotel offers really good price-quality.

Location:
- fantastic if you like quiet. One can start hiking directly from the hotel as it is the last building in hamlet Furi on 1900 m
- about 300 yards uphill (not too steep, asphalt road) from gondola - which is open from around 7am till 6pm. After that you can take an electric taxi from (or to) Zermatt, which will cost you SFR 100 one way.

Service:
5* service from fam. Biner and staff. Really nice and friendly.

Food:
Good food. Nothing too fancy. Enjoyed the raclette evening the most. Breakfast good choice. Only thing missing was fresh fruit on most days.

Rooms:
There are regular double rooms and family rooms, and a chalet next to hotel. Good price-quality.

Extra's:
- Very nice wellness area for the 3 star class in the cellar. Good sized swimming pool with towels. Sauna and Wirlpool. Very nice surprise!
- Garden: large outside area to sit. With good weather daily BBQ lunch outside. Nice children's play area with running mountain water, swing, slide etc etc, table tennis (rackets and ball at reception)

Surroundings:
- Summer skiing: nice area with (besides connection runs) 4 easy runs plus long run to Trockener Steg. Recommended because adventurous. Prepare to walk with ski gear the last 200-300 yards over the rocks (July)
- City center: as quiet as Furi is, as busy is center with people, shops and electro cars. Besides garbage truck and the farmer's tractors no gasoline cars in village
- Fun Forest park (next to base station Matterhorn express): climb, hang in ropes, abseiling. A real thrill. Special kids trail (4-7) - recommended.
- Hiking: about 40 trails. An easy recommended trail is the Gourmet trail (Sunegga-Zermatt) With lunch at 'chez Vrony'. Easy trail also for kids as from 5 or 6 years old. Matterhorn trail also recommended as it passes Hotel Silvana and gives splendid views on Matterhorn.
- Visit hamlets Z'mutt and Zum See: they are transferred into open place restaurants: really nice atmosphere and beautiful
- Restaurant Marmotte: open until 6.30 pm. With small goat park (nice for kids) and amazingly good and fancy food. Additional plus for kids: owner Roby Perren is Bergretter so once in a while he will be picked up or dropped of by helicopter, right next to restaurant
- Marmottes is general: keep your eyes open and you see wildlife from Hotel terrasse! Also we've often seen Marmottes (Murmli) and deer (bambi) from the Gondola Zermatt-Furi.
