I have been lucky enough to be able to stay at the Omnia twice this summer. The hotel is truly a home away from home. A very relaxed atmosphere, very friendly and discrete staff who are just there to make your stay as flawless as possible. With the slate, wood and glass build - the hotel seems to be breathing. All the rooms are spacious and very well decorated, the balconies all have sheep skin covered chairs and there is nothing better than to sit there and relax with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down on the Matterhorn whilst listening to some relaxing classical. The beds are incredibly comfortable and lovely, the bathrooms are nice and soothing - lovely soaps, shampoos and all the rest of it. Breakfast is very good - with all kinds of cereals, yoghurts, cahrcuterie, chese, smoked salmon and you can order your favourite eggs and bacon to be enjoyed with a Bucks Fizz. All the main rooms are also very comfortable and you never feel like you are being cramped or overheard - it truly is a home away from home. The SPA is nice with indoor-outdoor swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath, steam room etc and the Jaccuzzi outside from where you can enjoy the view of the Matterhorn again.
The staff are all honestly cheery and have easy smiles to all. When they ask you how you are that day - they wait around to hear what you have to say, because they mean it. No request is too strange or out of order - they will do their upmost to fulfill all your needs in order to make your stay at the Omnia the best it can be.

The restaurant is very good and with neatly prepared food, smiling service and a nice wine menu. It is pure bliss.

The Omnia is almost in the center of Zermatt yet so quiet and relaxing where it sits on its rock. I have read some people complaining that there's no free shuttle to the ski lifts or to "town" at night. In Switzerland we like walking they should try this...

I can not convey the exact feeling that the Omnia gives me - other than complete peace, and relaxation. Just what the doctor ordered!

Room Tip: All the rooms are fantastic

My husband and I stayed at the Omnia for 2 nights in August 2011. Words are not enough to describe our experience at this hotel. We were blown away by how spectacular and beautiful the hotel was and the incredible level of service.

We stayed in one of the suites and were very impressed by the little details in our suite. One of my favorite areas was the balcony with the sheepskin chair covers, and of course the view of the majestic Matterhorn. The suite is very spacious , the bed was amazingly comfortable, and I loved seeing the Matterhorn in the morning when I opened my eyes. Priceless!!

The staff at the Omnia were wonderful, friendly, warm, welcoming and very attentive. We had dinner at the terrace one evening and loved everything about it. The atmosphere was perfect and food was delicious. Absolutely divine.

The Omnia definitely exceeded our expectations. I would go back to Zermatt just to stay at this hotel, it's a little paradise in Zermatt. Pure bliss and oh so heavenly.

Our trip at The Omnia was no short from perfect! The stunning setup of this mountain lodge is second to none. We had the most amazing arrival experience that reminded us straight out of a 007 movie, make sure they pick you up from the train station with the fancy electro cart! :) You can reach the center of the city (Bahnhofstrasse) within 1 minute due the fantastic elevator installation in the rock below the resort. The architecture and interior is as amazing as it is functioning. we stayed in a corner suite and it doesn’t get any better! To just sit on the balcony, on one of the fuzzy cheep chairs and looking at the Matterhorn! That we could have done for hours. The view from the corner rooms and even the village side rooms are great, you can over look entire Zermatt and even see the Matterhorn form your bed when you wake up. Be sure to take a higher category room with view to the most stunning mountain.
The Omnia has an amazing, noble feel to it that puts you onto a different state of mind (let go and dive in!). Wonderful facility to spend hours just indulging yourself and others. Use the outdoor Jacuzzi and the rest of the wellness area.
The dining area is exquisite, we had fantastic dinner and also most delicious breakfast every morning. Sit on the restaurant terrace to enjoy the best start into your day.
Staff was very attentive and efficient, Swiss quality. The Managing Director was very hand on and made the entire stay even more personal, it is good to make emotional connection with the people behind great hospitality establishments.
We will be back as soon as we can!!

Our stay at the Omnia was amazing! The hotel is absolutely beautiful - marble, wood and slate dominated the decor. We arrived by their own electric car driven by a lovely, friendly member of staff who gave us a guided tour as we approached the "underground secret entrance". This entrance was truly impressive! Very 007ish and when we arrived in the foyer we were greeted by a fabulously warm and friendly welcoming environment. Behind the lovely comfy leather suites that just begs you to curl up with a book near the roaring central fireplace is a delighful library area - quiet, peaceful and serence. That opens onto the balcony where the splendid and breathtaking views of the Matthorn can be seen whilst sitting on wooden chairs adorned with a comfortable fur rug for cushioning. The staircase has a glass effect and you'll find no tacky plastic anything here! The receptionists all spoke several languages and couldn't do enough for us - offering us drinks on arrival! Our room was comfortable, clean and very stylish with a BBC entertainment channel that even had "Eastenders" on! . The breakfast was plentiful with a buffett, however any egg dishes such as eggs benedict could be ordered from the menu. We went in the height of August so everyone was there for the walking and so the pool was empty!! - The pool which is partially inside and partially outside so would be great if the weather wasn't too warm (although we were lucky enough to bask on the fabulous sunloungers outside on the balcony) was a feature of the whole hotel - really impressive looking. We have stayed at many 5 star hotels around the world - in fact we don't stay in anything other than a 5 star usually and so we have many excellent standard hotels to compare it with. It certainly does come up to the high expectations that we are used to and in fact, even though we were overwhelmed by the impressive Hotel Royal Splendide in Lugano which is where we went to next on our trip around Switzerland - I would say that the Omnia just had the edge and it was our preferred hotel of the whole trip - and the reason why - well it matched the highest standards in food, decor, friendliness and service -but it was ALSO relaxed and one day when I walked through the foyer I actually saw someone curled up on the comfy sofa with a book and a glass of red wine in front of the big roaring fireplace in the centre. This shows how relaxed, welcoming and warm the people and the place is - not stuffy and pretentious as some "opulent" hotels can sometimes be. It was like a home from home and I couldn't recommend it highly enough - we will definately be returning!

Our stay at the Omnia was absolutely incredible. Luxury, relaxation, impeccable 5-star service and food in an immaculate hotel in a perfect location! One cannot ask for anything more. The rooms are spacious, spotless and perfectly appointed, right down to the cozy chairs on the balcony. The staff is wonderful.... friendly and accomodating, making any request a reality. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. The wellness centre was a perfect place to relax after a long day of hiking and the jacuzzi a perfect place to unwind in while viewing the city and Matterhorn. The hotel itself is absolutely remarkable in design and construction, and as it is nestled up on a cliff's edge, it has one of the best views of Zermatt and of the Matterhorn....we will definitely make this our hotel of choice when in Zermatt again!

Room Tip: Believe that any room here will be fantastic....but ours was incredible with a balcony, view of the...

Where do you start?

Do you start with the most beautiful town, free of cars, amazingly polite people, and a sense of total peace?

Do you start with a hotel that you walk into and are greeted by the entire staff, escorted by an electric car by a friendly driver, and walking into a hotel that makes you feel like you are nestled in the most comfortable, warm, and incredible lodge ever?

Or how about coming back from a day of mountain biking through a driving storm, drenched, covered head to toe in mud ... and wake up from your nap to your shoes being cleaned, your clothes and all the mess taken care of without even a thought?

Or how about the incredible breakfasts ... the comfortable beds, the amazing scenic backdrops, the very modern amenities while maintaining the rustic nature of Zermatt?

We WILL go back. We will go back over and over again. Our trip was perfect and this hotel just added to it.

WOW!

Room Tip: They ... are ALL amazing!
