“Top class hotel, well located, friendly staff”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

We stayed at Fleurs de Zermatt for one week and loved our stay there.

The hotel facilities are great. The rooms are well decorated. The ones with a view on the Matterhorn are even better but these deluxe rooms weren't all the same size. Our room was bigger than the ones other members of our family had. The spas area is great with the outside pool, the humid and dry sauna as well as the icy bath. The ski room to leave your gear is very convenient. The hotel is near the bus station to go to Matterhorn paradise (better take the bus at the train station 5 minutes away as it comes full in front of the hotel on busy days).

Breakfast was great and the buffet was always full every morning. The quality of the food was excellent and the women taking care of it was doing a good job. Tea, cakes, chocolate and other snacks were served between 4 and 6 PM. Fresh fruits and tea are always available around the place.

The staff of the hotel was very helpful and friendly. They advised us for the ski runs and lifts. They were always helpful if we needed to do a restaurant reservation or plan a cab. I advise you organise a pickup at the train station when you arrive. They have a free electric cab and even if the hotel is 5 minutes away from the station by walk, there is often ice and snow in the streets of the village.

The hotel could improve 2 things: the wifi internet is often slow or not working and the process to login is always painful and long. This is not acceptable for a hotel of this category. Finally, the owner of the hotel works there and is helpful when needed but could he could take example on his staff and use a little smile once in a while. All the rest was top class.

Room Tip: The ones with a view on the Matterhorn are even better but these deluxe rooms weren't all the sa...

We stayed at Fleurs de Zermatt in Feb 2014. The hotel is new and everything has the fresh feeling. I actually stayed here around 4 years ago when it was the Alpenstern but you can't compare the two.....The Alpenstern was tired and needed refurd which is exactly what happened and now Fleurs de Zermatt is a real 4/5 star hotel.

We had two kids (7 & 3 yrs) and the hotel was perfect for family. Rooms are very spacious and have high level of amenities (Nespresso machine, fresh fruit, large LED tv with lots of English channels, huge walk in wardrobe).

The spa area is one of the best I've seen. Very clean, lots of comfortable seating, superb indoor & outdoor pool and sauna, steam room. When the place was being refurb they clearly spent a lot of care and money in the spa.

I read one review who said staff were rude and unhelpful but we never experienced this at all. In fact, based on our experience the exact opposite is true, all staff we came across were very attentive and very good with our kids.

Yes this hotel is expensive but Zermatt is expensive and the quality of the accommodation is very high. One point general I will make about Zermatt, the taxis drive far too fast considering its a family resort with busy streets.

The hotel is very new, and they have a lack of staff, as the same girl that serves the breakfast is the therapist on the spa.

On the room they dont provide the basics such us conditioner shampoo and even a fridge or mini bar

The breakfast menu is very poor and they run out of it quickly

Receptionist was very unpolite and unfrienly.

And finally you have to be carefull when check out as the price can increase without previous notice, because we have an accident and we spill a glass of wine we were charged 450 euros based on a quote that they made without consulting professionals.

We (my girlfriend and I) stayed here for a weekend with high expectations before arriving. We were not let down, our expectations were beaten with considerable margin. From being picked up at the train station to the super comfortable rooms, to the beautiful spa, there was just nothing more that we could have expected. It's a bran new hotel which is evident with every step you take, the amenities are exactly what you need. The rooms were large, had very comfortable beds, and the bathrooms were state of the art and also huge. The location is nice as it is a 5 minute walk from the train station so it's in a quiet area of Zermatt and yet still within walking distance of everything (unless you're in ski boots in which case take a taxi or bus!!). However, the staff is what will make your stay memorable, so friendly, helpful, willing to go the extra mile. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a room with the view of the Matterhorn - it is worth it!
