“Cozy and pleasent near lifts and town center”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 March 2012

Spent three nights here in February. Very comfortable in a single room with enough space for one. Convenient ski storage and an easy walk to the lifts and the center of town. Cozy feel throughout. Breakfast is mostly cold food but with ample choice for everyone. A quiet hotel that makes you feel welcome and appreciated. The lobby space is comfortable for working or socializing and the bar is subdued but will provisioned. A very good choice in a beautiful setting.

Room Tip: The single rooms are on the small side by U.S. standards but well equipped so plan on spending more...

I spent one Saturday night in this hotel with my family. We had one room for the parents on the 4th floor, nice penthouse look, no balcony, village view. Well appointed, cosy, quiet, next door to small exercize room and sauna. Room 427, recommended (if you don't mind no balcony and no Matterhorn view). Kids 8/11 were in a smaller room overlooking the brook and the pedestrian street on level 2.
All in all, Valais/Wallis hospitality in multi-generation hotel, the 85 year old previous manager still out and about, nice staff from receptionist to electric taxi driver, well appointed everything (breakfast, ski-room, bar, restaurant, terrace).
Only criticism is that the wi-fi is not free and o my, is it not free. We did not purchase it.
Location is at the end of Zermatt towards the Matterhorn express gondolas. Very convenient for that and a little away from the town center, so quieter and nicer surroundings.

Very well located, 3 minutes walk from the Matterhorn Express to go up to the Klein Matterhorn and the Italian skiing part. Very tidy and clean hotel and rooms. Very generous breakfast. In the evening, walk on the left when coming out of the hotel and in 5 minutes you're on the main street with all bars and restaurants. Had a great time in Alpenblick! Would definitely recommend it and go back myself.

Zermatt is expensive but for what we paid I'd rather have stayed somewhere more modern and in better shape. Location is ok as it's closer to the trams but don't like that it's further from the main part of town.

My Wife and I and two Children stayed here for the first week of April 2011. We had a wonderful week. The bedrooms were fairly large, the food was good and location couldn't be better. The owners and staff were most welcoming and we will certainly go back.. A W

Swiss family ran hotel. We stayed for 8 nights over Christmas and New Year. Staff and owners very friendly. Extensive good quality breakfast compared to many Swiss hotels. Muesli, yogurt, cake, fruity bread, seeds, dried fruits, fresh fruits and juice, plus the usual fayre. They had a toaster and boil your own eggs. Half board meals were very good quality indeed. Wine list was typically Swiss but not overly expensive and probably ran to about 100 different bottles.
The open wine was good Swiss wine and well priced.
Two lounge areas and a bar. Our room was large enough, had a balcony and the bathroom was a fair size, if a little dated.
Perfect location for walking to the lifts, only 5 minutes. The wellness area was not very large but very pleasant. Good fitness room. Quiet location. All in all very enjoyable and I'd stay there again.

Family owned and run the Alpenblick is well situated for both the slopes and the town. Zermatt is a very upmarket place with gourmet dining and tempting ( expensive) boutique shops, so to find a reasonably priced hotel well positioned is not easy.

The food was amazing - we stayed half board and every night had a five course gourmet meal. Book a suite if you can - much more room and great views.

The staff are veyr helpful and friendly, the only thing missing is a relaxing lounge - the lounge is brightly lit with bench seats around and drinking tables - bit like an 80's style pub - sadly no fireplace or comfy sofas to relax in.

There is a relaxation spa with sauna, power shower and steam room which is very pleasant.

  • Liked — Comfy beds!
  • Disliked — Lounge area lacks atmosphere and fireplace
