We don't know if it was our lucky day but everything was just perfect!
Friday June 27 the weather was gorgeous so we could have dinner in the lovely garden under one of the trees by candle light.
We ordered a salade with goat cheese, honey and walnuts as a starter, 300 grams of excellent beef filet on a hot stone with french fries and 4 sauces as a main dish and as dessert a Dame Blanche and 3 small dishes with a variety of crème brulée.
A beautiful presentation of all dishes and a remarkable service with a smile and perfect timing!!!
As the owner of this restaurant works as hard as his staff he deserves his maserati.
Keep up the good work and we will come back soon!

If you happen to have a hot summer day in Lausanne, unlike this year in general, but like yesterday, you might want to live the southern part of the city and get some fresh air.
Sauvabelin is the right place for that, it is a nice forest within the town, there are a few sites to see, an excellent panoramic view on Lausanne and that holiday kind of climate that makes you forget you are still in the middle of Lausanne.

This restaurant has a nice old chalet style with big apparent stone and wood. It has four different settings with a nice terrasse a small lounge, a bigger hall and the small old style chalet hall. We ate outside which was the most appropriate considering the weather.

This place has a large menu, but meat seems to be the way to go, whether it is served on hot stone, prepared in front of you (woronoff or tartare), or as one variant of the fondue which, by the way, are all served at will.

We took "fondue vignerone" of beef which is a variant of "chinese fondue" with thicker pieces of meat and a broth made with wine. The meat was beautiful, the sauces were ok, the french fries were nice, served in a small tin bucket and there was a tiny cup of vegetables to ease our conscience.

We ate very well, ordered a second plate of meat (remember, at will), had a red Montepulciano which was very nice too. All in all a very good experience for a fair price and as we ate we saw some other dishes being served which definitely will have me try again this place.

This place is a nice surprise, it gives you a real alternative to the "Chalet Suisse" which has a better view but is not as interesting in terms of food and is more expensive.

The only drawback would be that the service is a bit slow, the staff is minimal and the place has success, so don't go there if you are in a hurry, this is a place for summer farniente.

Try it ! you will be surprised and at these prices, you are not taking a big risk.

Brasserie-style restaurant located in the upper Lausanne. The setting and decor is nice with tables made of solid wood that resemble a Swiss chalet.
The menu is varied (fish, meat, pasta and risottos and pizzas). Service level is the weak, slow and messy. Against by the food presentation is neat.

We chose the house specialty namely the Beef Filet "Voronoff" 200 gr with cognac with "home" french fries and vegetables. The preparation of this dish is made in front of the customer in the dining room, nice show....
The meat was excellent and the sauce that accompanied it made from onions, garlic, crushed tomato, mustard, paprika, ketchup, brown stock, cream, parsley, cognac.
Big disappointment for fries even served in a separate bowl, have made me wait and above all completely disappointed that I was expecting "home" fries and not frozen and not overcooked.

For dessert, crème brûlée trio for me (vanilla flavor, orange blossom and pink) and apple pie, vanilla ice cream for my guest. Beautiful presentation and excellent quality as homemade.

In short, pretty brewery, but some improvements in the food and service to perform.

Areas for improvement:
- The fries are the way and mentioned on the "house" were not quite cooked and frozen, I would have preferred more honesty, because I would not have taken this side dish.
- The side dishes arrived 5min after meat. Much wait accompaniments are ready before serving.
- Service slow and somewhat disorganized
- Price a little overrated, especially for the beef "Voronoff" CHF 53. - And frozen french fries
