meets exepectations. Very friendy staff - very professional. Stayed there for a lovely weekend. Situated in the heart of Lausanne. Easy parking - nice atmosphere. Highly recommended. "Partial lake-view" means: forget about the lake view.

Beautiful boutique hotel right on the lake in Lausanne. Superb location with beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

The hotel is smaller than the grand old palaces like the Beau Rivage across the road. As such it has a much more intimate atmosphere.

The rooms are beautiful and very tastefully decorated. I was there in the winter in room on the first floor facing the lake. Although this means a stunning view from the room it also means you are right on the promenade between the Hoyle and the lake which is very busy in the summer.

We stayed 5 nights in Riviera Suite, nr 716, which is on the top floor of the tower. Perfect room, perfect views. Excellent retaurant. EXTREMELY helpfull staff: they provided a real, greatly decorated Christmas tree on my request. made countless efforts to reserve a restaurant in a city, and after we left they have sent me some documents I forgot in my room! On top of that they provided us in advance with extra lamps, pre-heated the room till desired temperature etc.

Some details which make the hotel ALMOST flawless, but not completely:
- room service is not 24/7
- some noise from the heating radiators
- SPA complex in a sister hotel Lausanne Palace is pretty far away

But these details are really minor in comparison with how you enjoy the rest

Funny how I always thought this château was a museum. In fact it's a luxurious hotel bar and restaurant. it has been mostly rebuilt but the central tower, 6 storeys high, dates of the 12 century. I was lucky enough to say in a Junior suite in the center tower. imagine that, starting in a place that's more than 900 years old.!!!

despite its age the place is fully renovated at the highest standards. The bar is also very cool with glass ceiling that gives you a view of the central tower. Very impressed.

We had a ten day stay with my husband and two children in September/October at this hotel. The location is wonderful with superb views over the lake. We caught a taxi from the train station in Lausanne to get to the hotel - a ten minute journey (we noticed a car park for guests is available for those driving). Check-in was straightforward and we were then greeted with a wonderful complimentary platter of treats (pastries and fresh fruit) and drinks in our room.
We were given the suite at the top of the tower with windows on every elevation that afforded the most amazing views of Lausanne as well as the lake and surrounding mountain peaks. The room decor was lovely with new and well maintained furniture, a comfortable and enormous bed, an additional foldaway bed for the children and beautiful ceiling detail. More importantly it was clean!
The staff at reception were very helpful at extending our stay (we had appalling apartment accommodation in Dijon and decided to come to Lausanne earlier than initially planned). Best decision we made. Lausanne is a wonderful base to see Switzerland. The hotel provided us with a free metro pass for the duration of our stay which allowed us to get to Lausanne railway station daily with ease and explore Switzerland via rail. Connections to just about everywhere are frequent (every 15 to 30 minutes at most) and staff at the railway station were wonderful with suggestions.
The metro stop is literally across the road from the hotel. There are also numerous other facilities -tourist info, chemist, restaurants, ferry connections, a fantastic playground area for children - adjacent to the hotel.
The hotel pool (outdoor) was not in use during our stay but the grounds were lovely with numerous lounge areas. We were told we could use the Lausanne Palace facilities as well as the in house spa facilities but we did not have time.
We had breakfast at the hotel every day and found the variety of food available was not only extensive (fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, bread and pastries, cheese, cold meats, a great hot buffet), but the staff varied the hot selections on a daily basis. We have seen some of the criticisms of the hotel breakfast and are bewildered considering the range of food that was available during our stay. We thought breakfast was excellent value and the staff in the dining room were particularly helpful, friendly and efficient and went out of their way to accommodate requests.
Dinner was available on site but we did not end up eating in the hotel and there is also an extensive bar area with lounge which seemed very popular with the locals. Being at the top of the tower we were never bothered by any noise.
The hotel overall has been given a contemporary makeover that is sympathetic to the original features that have been maintained.
Some areas such as the lifts are a little bit tired but do not detract from the overall feel of the hotel. Housekeeping was great and complimentary fresh fruit and bottled water was replenished daily in our room. The only criticism with regard to our room was poor ventilation in the bathroom (a lot of hotels unfortunately suffer from this) which of course leads to mould and mildew issues.
Overall though it was an extremely comfortable stay. We would return in a flash. Though we have not stayed at the other hotels in the vicinity we would undoubtedly stay here again considering what a great experience we had. The character of the hotel is unsurpassable and its enviable position right by the lake combined with great service makes this a fantastic choice.

We stayed for one night sadly, tho after commenting that the amazing lake views hindered by trees from our level 1 room were not as marketed during our luggage pick up saw us whisked up to a Junior Suite on level 5 which exceeded all our expectations and has our next visit sewn up there for certain, based solely on the amazing service and their understanding of the value of service!

We left for the airport prior to breakfast so cannot comment.

We would definitely recommend this chateau to all visitors to Lausanne.

Room Tip: Lake view definitely!

Spectacular grand hotel right on the shores of Lake Geneva and surrounded by the magnificent Quai Ouchy. Great service. Fantastic location. Small room but comfortable, facing the water, which I would request as the views were wonderful.

Room Tip: Request facing water and/or with a small balcony.
